    I've bend trying to use obs for recording, but it always goes to a black screen when I record, so I was wondering what other free recording software I could use.

    Xsplit broadcaster is good, doesn't run out ever (if you don't buy the full thing) and can be decent for just recording. Then there is a free 30day trial which is just start recording and boom, "screen recorder" can help you there, mainly I haven't found out how to adjust the screen on there though.
