I don't know why my game's fps drops only in Ahmsord. In every other region, it is totally fine.

Does anyone have a solution or an explanation to this?

was happening to me often some time ago (end of 2021 or start of this year), often when im lootrunning or just wandering around, I remember how I was on 2chunks, settings close to minimal and animations were off and I was still lagging and getting lagspikes

probably because not enough ram allocated / weak gpu, because ahmsord and sky islands are big areas

Ohhhh, so how much ram should I allocate to Minecraft then? I currently have 16gb of ram.

Use Phosphor mod (Forge), it helps a lot in dealing sky island and molten heights lag

Ok ty! I allocated more ram and also added phosphor and the fps drop reduced a lot.

    figured I'd put this note:
Java tend to allocate as much ram as it's given and not release them when finished (and clean them once in a while using GC)
Now I'd highly discourage you from allocating unnecessary amount of ram (say, you are only using phosphor and maybe a few other performance mods like optifine), you'd only need 4, allocating 16 is not only overkill but also just simply a waste of space and adds stress to your cpu

(Also having a bit more ram helps but for the record 4gb should be good)

also note about sky islands lag: mc is wonky on void shading and phosphor fixes it perfectly
