What Goes Where: A Guide to all Wynncraft Forums and Discord Channels

Since I’ve been seeing a few threads not made where they belong lately, and there doesn’t seem to be a real guide anywhere around, so I guess I’ll explain what goes in which forums section, and maybe even more importantly, what doesn’t.

The Noticeboard​

Rules & Information

This is a very important place to look at every once in a while and especially if you’re new to Wynn, as this is where most of the rules are stated, which you should at least know about. If you’re ever curious on what is allowed and what isn’t, be sure to take a look here!

What goes here: You can’t actually post anything here aside from the ‘How to apply for the content team’ thread, which isn’t really anything newsworthy to post on, as it’s really just an information post that never got locked.

What doesn’t go here: Don’t apply for ct on the thread itself. Look at the beginning of the thread where Grian explains how and where to apply, the thread isn’t for applying itself.


News & Patches

This is where smaller announcements are made. Again, not a place where you can post your own threads, but you can discuss these small patches or announcements here. As for all discussion I will mention, keep it civil and use proper arguments. Helps everyone out.

What goes here: Discussion on the thread, which is a patch or announcement.

What doesn’t go here: Posts unrelated to the threads.


Major Updates

Every major update gets its own special spotlight here, with a full changelog and people screaming ‘first page’ on first page.

What goes here: Again, update-related posts.

What doesn’t go here: Non-update related posts. See, it can be pretty easy sometimes.

The Realm of Wynncraft​

Wynncraft

We’ve arrived at the main forum section. This is the place where most of the stuff happens, and therefore the most popular section as well. Many things Wynn-related go here. However, with this being the main section, some effort in threads and posts is much appreciated. If you’re looking for guides, I recommend the so-called Guide Guide.

What goes here: Well, anything that’s Wynn-related. This might seem like a lot, but from now on I’ll just be naming things with their own forum section, which are of course supposed to stay within there.

What doesn’t go here: Anything with their own section, low-effort question/debate threads (we’ve had a million ‘what’s your favorite class’ threads already) and the threads that are better off being profile posts. If you’re ever not sure, you can always move thread location later.


Questions

Our first actual sub-subforum! This is where all your questions go, answered by some of the most knowledgeable people on the forums (unless they’re not available). Be sure to Google your question beforehand though; many questions could’ve been answered by a simple google search, which spares everyone some time. You should look on the Wiki from time to time as well. Always try to word your question clearly so you can get the clearest answer back.

What goes here: Questions! It’s not always that hard.

What doesn’t go here: Try to avoid duplicate questions, try to avoid lazy questions, any questions that aren’t Wynn-related.


Class Builds

This is for class builds, which, in case you didn’t know, is the term for getting gear that works well with eachother. If you want a quick and good class build, I recommend the one and only Caste Construction Site, all you need to know beforehand are your preferences. If you want to create builds yourself, Wynndata is a godsend and you’re gonna want to use it.

What goes here: Cool and/or creative class builds, certain item discussion or mostly-done builds wanting feedback and tips.

What doesn’t go here: ‘what is the best acrher build’ and small questions that are better off in #class_builds. Scroll down furhter for the Discord channel part.


Crafting Recipes

The new kid on the block. Only being added after 1.18, it’s still very new, so there isn’t a lot to say about it. Just remember Wynndata and Mashtools exist, very useful for crafting and looking up ingredients.

What goes here: Anything crafting-related, whether ingredient discussion, full crafting recipes or questions specifically about improveing a recipe.

What doesn’t go here: Well, anything that isn’t crafting-related. Otherwise you’re good.


Trade Market

Ah, the Trade Market. I feared it would lose most activity with 1.18’s new in-game Trade Market, but it’s still very much used and has many threads for buying and selling gear, ingredients and really anything that’s tradable. There’s a useful Price Checking thread, but that can be slow so I also recommend the Mythic Emporium Price Checking Discord™.

What goes here: Threads for buying, selling and auctions (be sure to read some rules about those).

What doesn’t go here: Asking for free stuff. That’s about it.


The Planning Parlour

The Planning Parlour is for planning to do boss fights, quest and whatever you might want to do with multiple people. This isn’t a very active thread, but there are a few quests and boss fights commonly posted.

What goes here: Expect mostly Bob’s Tomb, Bob’s Reincarnation, CoW, Amadel, ??? and Qira threads, although anything regarding getting other people to play with you at a certain time is fine.

What doesn’t go here: Anything that doesn’t fall under above.


Guilds

This is where guild stuff happens. Remember that most guilds have some sort of requirement before applying, and you should be good to use this section.

What goes here: Guild threads for recruitment of new people, applications for said guilds and the occasional ‘I need want to join a guild’ thread.

What doesn’t go here: Guild drama. Please.


General Suggestions

This is where you share your ideas to make improve Wynn, whether ingame, the forums or even something else. Remember to read the Suggesting guide, and be sure to put in some effort on your suggestion and try to learn a bit about the thing you’re suggesting beforehand.

What goes here: Suggestions.

What doesn’t go here: Complaints without suggestion, suggestions made countless times and posts without any form of feedback on the suggestion made.


Feedback

The far less active little brother of General Suggestions. This is where you can put your opinions on every part of Wynn, but keep it civil and try to use good arguments. Also, read the Giving Feedback guide.

What goes here: Well-thought out and constructive (useful) criticism on Wynn, backed up by arguments.

What doesn’t go here: Complaining about things you don’t like because you don’t like them. And flamewars. Keep those out too.


??? Hunt

Dead subforum. The rare thread about doing ???, which are usually pointed towards the Planning parlour. Meant for solving the ??? mystery, but hasn’t had any real use since it was solved.

What goes here: I’d tell you if I knew

What doesn’t go here: Just let it die, ok?


Bug Reports

This is where you can report bugs and wait until the few active people there ask for more details.

What goes here: Bug reports (try to find out if it’s been reported before), preferably detailed, and slight discussion on why the bug exists and how to fix it.

What doesn’t go here: Saying the game doesn’t work and is stupid, reporting intended features as bugs.

Community Tavern​

Nemract’s Bar

Made for fun banter, some interesting non-Wynn related threads and the occasional serious thread.

What goes here: really anything that doesn’t go anywhere else.

What doesn’t go here: anything that goes elsewhere. You get what I mean.


Forum Games

A very active subforum, with a small but fun part of the community mainly hanging out here. Posts here don’t count toward post total, but likes do, which is how some people have 30 posts and over 1000 likes. A great place to browse for a bit if you’re ever feeling bored.

What goes here: Classic forum games, roleplays, just a few fun entertaining threads.

What doesn’t go here: I don’t think anyone will be angry, but posts that fall out of the general idea of Forum Games will probably be ignored.


Your Work

For showing off your art skills, whether it’s music, drawing, building, tools, resource packs, whatever you can think of. If you made it, you can share it here. You can even ask people for LE for drawing them something!

What goes here: Your own work.

What doesn’t go here: NSFW art, advertising threads (even though, yes, you made them) and work that isn’t yours.


Your Services

This is the place where you can show all that skill and help people by doing it. Services can range from anything, from in-game boss helping to stuff not even related to Wynn.

What goes here: Your thread where you offer your services, or posts asking for them. be sure to say thank you!

What doesn’t go here: Begging.


Llevigar’s Docks

Chances are, if you’re reading this, it’s already too late for you to post there. Nonetheless, if you’re ever feeling like it, you can always welcome someone to the forums!

What goes here: An introduction post, usually someone’s first post on the forums, and threads from people who are leaving for a while, or longer.

What doesn’t go here: Threads from people not leaving and not new.


Minecraft

This is where all Minecraft (but not Wynncraft) related posts go. Not a lot more to say, it’s kind of a boring subforum imo.

What goes here: Minecraft-related content.

What doesn’t go here: Wynncraft-related goes in Wynncraft or other subforums, non-Minecraft related probably goes in Nemract’s Bar.


Other Games

Do you play other games besides Wynn? Do you want to talk about them? Recommend them to others? This is where you want to go.

What goes here: Gaming-related threads. Remember that Minecraft has its own subforum.

What doesn’t go here: Filthy non-gamer posts.


Featured Wynncraftian Suggestions

Sadly, another subforum essentially died out. Once used for nominating and voting on people to become the famed Featured Wynncraftian, but the person hosting this has left and we haven’t heard of Featured Wynncraftian since.

What goes here: Featured Wynncraftian nominations.. if you still have hope of it returning.

What doesn’t go here: Anything not about (possible) Featured Wynncraftians.

The Dungeons​

Player Reports

If you ever see someone hacking, being incredibly toxic, or doing other bannable offenses, this is where you can anonymously report them with proof (screenshots, recordings). I think you can figure out what goes here and what doesn’t by yourelf.


Ban Appeals

Have you done a bad in the past? Do you regret it? Or was a ban entirely unjustified? You can appeal a ban here, using your username (or the username at the time you were banned) and if this was your first ban, the mod(s) will reconsider the reasons for your ban, and maybe you’ll get unbanned. Don’t post stuff about ban appeals in other places though, spamming that your little brother hacked and not you everywhere you can won’t exactly quicken your appeal. Again, what goes here and what doesn’t should be self-explanatory.

Discord Channels​

In case you weren’t aware, yes, we have a Discord. It has quite a few channels, with some being very similar to subforums, but I would still like to go over the different text channels and explain what goes where.


#rules_and_information

Just some general information, also links to the rules on the forums. Again, please read them.

You can’t post anything in this channel.


#announcements

Here we get announcements on small patches, dxp weekend, sales and more. Very useful if you want to be quick with knwoing when something is going on.

You can’t post anything in this channel either.


#twitter

Just a bot showing all tweets from the official Wynncraft Twitter account. Mostly the same as #announcements but you can react with emotes on these, so it’s many times better.

You still can’t post anything in this channel though.


#general

Aah, #general, also known as #shitpost, or the worse #class_builds. A beautiful wasteland of shitposting, talking about everything and anything, and as close to the shoutbox as we’re ever gonna come. Enter at own risk.

What goes here: Almost anything. Almost.

What doesn’t go here: Memes. Although the occasional meme is fine by me, don’t let Moe catch you posting memes in #general..


#wynncraft

The tamer channel, I suggest this is where you hang out. Just general conersations and discussions about Wynn, nothing too impressive but sometimes a nice change of pace compared to the forums.

What goes here: Wynncraft related, although it’s not too strict.

What doesn’t go here: Stuff very not-Wynncraft related, and things that belong in other channels.


#questions

The quickest way to get a questions answered, but also with a big chance of your question being ignored or the answer being disagreed on. Slightly chaotic, but can be the quickest way of getting your answer.

What goes here: Questions and answers about Wynn.

What doesn’t go here: Anything that isn’t either of those. Try to keep #questions as useful as possible, please.


#class_builds

Would you look at that, we have a special guest feature! Someone already made a guide on this! I would like to add that #class_builds is the best way of getting quick feedback and tips on builds, though.

What goes here: Class builds and crafting recipes combined, really.

What doesn’t go here: if we’re doing it right, even with people like Toy ruining the fun, #class_builds can be whatever we want. (also don’t ask for ‘best build’ here either, thanks)


#trade_market

The experience of Detlas WC1 24/7. The only good way of selling stuff is by spamming your wares. Wouldn’t recommend this as a place of buying or selling, just use the ingame Trade Market or the one on forums. Everything that goes in the normal Trade Market also works here.


#planning_parlour

Imagine if all players in the Planning Parlour subforum were asking for help opening Bob’s Tomb. Yeah, #planning_parlour is really useful for finding people active right now, so you don’t have to worry about time zones and coordinating; just agree on a world on you’re good.

What goes here: Anything related to doing things with other players ingame.

What doesn’t go here: Whatever else.


#your_work

Really just a more meme-filled version of Your Work. Not a lot to say here, aside from WIPs to Your Work art often being posted here. What goes here and what doesn’t on Your Work applies here as well.


#bot_channel

Honestly, I have no clue what happens here.

What goes here: Commands, lots and lots of commands.

What doesn’t go here: as long as you’re falling within the Discords usual rules, you’re fine. I don’t think you’re gonna get through all the commands anyway.


#memes

The best and worst place in Wynn at the same time. Usually not related to Wynncraft, meme are posted whenever, often bad, sometimes copies of posts barely a day old. It’s a place you either love or hate, and it’s up to you to decide which one it is.

What goes here: If I need to tell you, you might just want to stay away from here.

What doesn’t go here: Sensible conversations.


#spoiler_chat

Created so people could talk about Endgame without spoiling other people, it’s a redundant channel filled with ‘batman dies in endgame’ posts and the like. Not very interesting, outside of some creative uses of the spoiler option in Discord.

What goes here: Spoilers.

What doesn’t go here: Any sentence not containing at least one spoiler.


#feedback_and_constructive_criticism

Long name, but it’s actually a pretty decent channel to discuss Wynn and what you like/dislike about certain aspects of it. The slow mode also really helps with keeping the chat under control. Mods and ct also look around in this channel, so you can have a live discussion with them on why some things exist, work this way etc.

What goes here: Game discussion, argument based feedback and, what a surprise, constructive criticism.

What doesn’t go here: Suggestions (ideas on how to fix problems are fine though) and baseless complaints. I like this channel, please keep it interesting.


#bug_and_player_reports

Had a funny name when it first appeared, but that’s about it for the channel. You can’t post in it, and it just links to the Bug and Player Reports on the forums.

Forum Etiquette and Bonus sections​

Although the rules themselves are already quite clear, I would like to add a few unwritten common decencies on here, to improve your and others’ time on the forums.

1. Fist and foremost, always stay respectful to others. Might seem obvious, but it’s important to say again.

2. Don’t tag or quote admins, unless absolutely necessary. They’re busy people, and just tagging them on whatever give them many notifications, giving them a hard time on discerning which tag is justified and which one isn’t. You wouldn’t like to be spammed either, would you?

3. If you see a post that’s informative, has a lot of effort ut into it, makes you laugh, correct you, or makes you like it in any other way: feel free to give them a like. Especially in places like Questions, some people type out huge posts and they deserves more likes in my opinion. Just an example.

Vip Plaza and whatever the vip Discord channel is called

The origin of all shitposts. A treat for any shitposter, and a section filled with possibilities and regrets. Some say it is the greatest section, some say it is the worst. I do not know, for I am a filthy non and I have not access to such an anomaly of nature. I can only wonder.

What goes here: VIP, VIP+, HERO

What doesn’t go here: nons :c
