General Information -
Picking up the quill after the events of the post-apocalyptic tale of survival known as Lost, an epic adventure fantasy awaits within an unfamiliar new realm of magic. (For those who do not know much about Lost and wish to learn more, visit the previous RP thread here. Keep in mind that prior knowledge is not required to participate in this RP.) Legend tells of a land free of corruption beyond the enchanted doors, free of the eternal scourge that laid waste to the once prosperous province of Wynn, enriched entirely by powerful elemental magics, known as the province of Gavel. Whether the fabled legend speaks of truth or writes off as a fairytale is not yet known. But as the tide begins to rise, a true storm begins to brew on the horizon. Welcome, members new and old, to the First of the Storm RP.

Rules -

2) NSFW content is not allowed. Do not bring sexual content to the RP.
3) Be serious. We're telling an actual story here. This means no modern slang or absolute tomfoolery.
4) Use common sense when writing, or at least pretend to have some.
5) Do not create overpowered characters. You can make them powerful, but not over the top.
6) When interacting with another author's character(s), make sure to contact them first. Do not kill off another author's character(s) unless said author has made an arrangement.
7) When a character dies within the events of this RP, they're dead for good. No respawning or reincarnation. Just as long as the character is still living, they're in. (Secret password is 5LK92#)
8) Use proper grammar and spelling. If you don't know how to, use a spell checker or a dictionary. They're great tools to use, and you can also use them to expand your vocabulary.
9) If you plan to join the RP, this means you are also devoted to writing whenever needed to. If you think you'll run out of ideas for your story too quickly, or won't have enough time to write, reconsider joining.
10) Use your own writing style. It's what represents your character, as well as yourself.
11) Violence and profanity may be used, but in amounts that are still deemed safe for younger audiences to read. Basically, don't scar our readers for life.

First Level
Futatsumizuchi (貳蛟龍): The User slashes twice to create a cross shaped slice.
Shikibachi (肆祁蜂): The User moves around his target at lightning speed, then thrusts forward multiple times while his arm is stretched out and wrist is twisted.
Fugaku (腑牙躯): The User curls his body and adds his weight onto a downward slash.

Second Level
Tobiazami (十毘薊): The User holds his sword in his right hand, twists his body, then swings in a wide arc. The user then repeats in the other direction by switching the sword to his other hand.
Kugatachi (九牙太刀): Generates five thrusts and four different kinds of slashes.
Yatagarasu (矢汰鳥): The User takes a deep breath and focuses his concentration. He imagines a small circle with himself at the center which he covers with his concentration, making the area perfectly defended. Yatagarasu is capable of defending against attacks that have a wide range, such as Irene's Diez Mil Fanega.
Kurikara (刳裡殻): The User cuts his opponent in passing, then twists his wrist, stabbing his opponent to the ground as if to sew them to the ground. This move was used to destroy the Gravi-Sheath.
Soekibachi (貳鬼蜂): The User thrusts forward to entice his opponent to attack, then withdraws his sword, using the blade to knock his opponent's weapon up. He attacks again while his opponent is caught off guard.
Rikutobachi (陸屠蜂): The User holds his sword level next to his mouth and thrusts at his opponent six times.
Yamonjin (夜紋塵): The User grasps his weapon with both hands, then runs while twisting his whole body, cutting down his opponent in one strike.
Chibashiri (千嘴離): The User swings his weapon at full strength as he draws it, using the momentum to twist his body and connect to his next strike.

Third Level
Gyakurasetsu (逆羅刹): The User controls the flow of power from several opponents to make them kill each other. This technique was originally known as Sakarasetsu.
Shurazuki (修羅月): The User moves in on his opponent and slashes at them in a half moon arc. Shurazuki is a technique designed to cut the opponent while running past them without stopping on the battlefield.

Narakumo (奈落蜘蛛): The user moves in on their opponent, then slashes right diagonally, horizontally to the right, twists their body and thrusts with their right, slashes left diagonally, horizontally to the left, twists their body and thrusts with their left, then thrusts with their right again for a total of seven strikes on the same spot.

Shichinagi (士茅薙): The user holds a short sword in reverse, parries their opponent's attack, then uses the momentum to spin around and swing the short sword down at their opponent.

Mikumobachi (壬雲蜂): The user thrusts forward three times at high speed, making it seem like all three attacks come at the same time. It has enough force to blow away smoke.

Kuruwabarai (刳環祓): The user grabs the back of their opponent's collar, lifts them, flips them in midair, then slams them down onto the ground while the user pounds their elbow into the opponent's chest. The force of the attack makes the opponent unable to breathe.
Hitsubauchi (櫃羽穿): The user kicks upward with tremendous force while twisting their right foot.
Fuwaguruma (不破轟): The user twists their body as they jump, then kicks the opponent's face three times.
Mushikuzushi (武姿崩): The user slides over to their opponent's chest, punches their weapon up to knock them off balance, then delivers a roundhouse kick to the opponent's pivot foot at full force.
Mikazuchi (壬雷): The user punches the opponent's jaw with their right fist, elbows them in the chest at the same time, then punches their solar plexus with their left fist three times.

Mikazuchi (壬卦槌): Modified version, The user uses a special Mikazuchi by adding the offensive power of his prana onto it. The force from the strike can make the air tremble and create a small crater on the ground behind his opponent.

Fusekazura (臥蔓): The user grasps the opponent's arm, then falls toward them while kicking their legs out. This technique is the origin of the Amagiri Shinmeiryuu Hand to Hand technique.
Kugatsuchi (九牙鎚): The user breaks the opponent's arms, crushes their legs, then punches the opponent's liver, heart, spleen, lungs, and kidneys, with the last strike an elbow to the opponent to send them flying, for a total of nine strikes.

Personality - As a person, Aeon is a helpful companion. He's rather laid back about everything, and can be exceptionally understanding towards others. In the heat of battle, he gains a sense of preparedness, studying the obstacles and enemies around him. Staying focused, utilizing anything to gain the upper hand, and quick reactions are the key to his strategy, to counter enemies and find an opportunity to strike. However, the moment the current situation goes horribly wrong, he shows his cowardly side and loses hope, often stumbling and unable to finish the task at hand. When reminiscing of the past, Aeon becomes a much more emotional person, even if he is just lost in thought.

Affiliation - None (pre-Lost), Survivors

Backstory - A young man who had an interest in adventure since the age of 5, Aeon grew up in New Detlas in a fashion most boys his age did. His family consisted of four members; his father, his mother, and Psoralea, his younger sister. Aeon's father had left on missions to fight at the front lines, but when Aeon turned 8, he was mysteriously never seen again, and was thought to have died on the line of duty. Only four months later, the city of New Detlas was under attack by rampant hordes of undead. Without the front line soldiers to save them, many were slaughtered in this horrible event. The siblings fled after the chaos had subsided, but during their escape, a large piece of the rubble fell, breaking Aeon's leg as they ran away. Upon reaching the end of Nivla Woods, Aeon ordered Psoralea to go on without him, promising her that they'd meet each other again soon. For eight years, he went on to become a lone adventurer, scavenging through ruins in order to find resources, without certainty of what would happen next during these dark times.

During the dark winter, Aeon encountered many friends and enemies along the way, such as the young assassin Azul and the half-enderman Dante. Through the guidance of the renegade corrupted Akyro and the warrior of blue William, the bladesinger learned much about the world they lived in, the necessary mindset to survive and the true definition of strength. Though the future is still uncertain and the present times are grim as ever, Aeon’s story has yet to come to its end.

Info - Pulling down the hood of his cloak conceals Aeon in a veil of magically infused particles, allowing him to become invisible for a temporary duration. Can be extended through mastery.

Info - A 20-strike combo, imprisoning foes in a perpetual storm of blade slashes.
+ Vorpal Shift
Info - The dagger's blade shifts to form a sharpened edge, allowing for swifter and sharper attacks.
+ Zero Shift
Info - The dagger's blade splits into thirds, unleashing raw ice magic and allowing for usage of ice-related skills.

+ Crescendo
Info - Only usable if Vorpal Shift is active. Slicing the air sharply in a curved direction creates rending shockwaves that pierce through enemies at the speed of sound.
+ Aurora Gale
Info - Only usable if Zero Shift is active. Charges up power within the weapon's shard, then unleashes an opalescent blast of white energies, acting as a long-range magic projectile that freezes enemies. Can be used to fire rapid-fire shots.

+ Chrono Blizzard
Info - Only usable if Zero Shift is active. Stabs into the ground to create a frozen sigil that manipulates the flow of time. Forcing the dagger out of the ground will cause all enemies caught in the flow to freeze.
+ Frost Scourge
Info - Only usable if Zero Shift is active. Forces the energy magics of the weapon’s shard into the enemy, cursing the victim with a slow and painful freeze, gradually weakening its defense and health.
+ Strike of Balance
Info - Secret technique. Derived from Will's Strike of Divine.

 

Quick note: Since Lost, I've kinda realized the whole "blast" thing was BS. I mean, seriously. So Dante's getting a kinda respec, with less emphasis on armor and range and more on speed and melee.

Backstory (what was the character like before the events of this story) - Honestly, I forgot, because of the huge server crash. TDWM and Lost were pretty much entirely deleted. I think we had an AzulxDante thing going unofficially though.

Strengths (what the character is good at) - Can dodge almost any projectile, because of endermanness (didn't make that up, totally)
Pretty fast.
Has been through a war before. Even if it was lost, he gained much experience, and now stays calm under fire. (pretty much the opposite of Aeon)
Weaknesses (what the character is bad at) - I said he can dodge projectiles, b/c enderman. However, splash damage can get him much of the time.
Weak armor, in exchange for speed.
Hates water, but while it won't do damage, it still hurts. (imagine being in a downpour. now imagine each drop was a bee stinging you. wouldn't kill you, but it'd hurt like [censored].)

Ability Info (what are the effects) - He's an enderman. Thus, he teleports. However, this is slightly like the teleportation from the Dragonriders of Pern series; he can go forward or backward in time, but only up to 3 seconds at a time.. A total of 10 seconds of time-travel per half-hour of actual time (by which I mean time he experiences. If he uses ten seconds to go forward, it takes a total of 30 minutes and ten seconds from when he began the teleport in order to be able to teleport in time again.)

Ability Name (what is the ability called) - Double Team
Ability Info (what are the effects) - Multiple images of Dante are created. When you hit any one but the real one, it disappears. However, if they hit you, they do 1/4 of the regular damage and disappear. Up to 5 can be created.

Ability Name (what is the ability called) - Ender Shockwave
Ability Info (what are the effects) - Gathers the terrain from around Dante into a ball, shielding him from attacks for 10 seconds. After said ten seconds, it explodes outwards. Only does good with hard terrain like stone; but dirt or sand in the face can always be a problem. Materials will fly for ten meters before falling out of Dante's range of control. Can be focused or spread in multiple directions. Cooldown varies on the scenario or Dante's emotions. If Dante is in a fight, up to a full minute to recharge; otherwise it can take up to an hour.

Ability Info (what are the effects) - Merging into the parallel dimension of the End, Dante can no longer be seen, except by people actually in the end. A really strong Corrupted or magic wielder could probably seek him out before. (And this is why you always see Endermen in the end, but never in the overworld.)

Ability Info (what are the effects) - Pretty much a spam of his time travel teleport ability thing. Hitting with his dagger, he teleports back a second, then hits with his dagger again. Limited by his limits for time travel.

Weapon/Weapon Name (create a weapon and name it) - Emerald Acid Blade (was used by the king of Emeraldonia, and was passed from generation to generation until it came into Matthew's possession as the rightful prince of Emeraldonia, which was a small kingdom inside Gavel, well, more like a city that acted like a kingdom. It's blade is made of emeralds and is enchanted to burn and erode whatever it touches. Has a faint green glow, and can cast some spells)

Backstory (what was the character like before the events of this story) - When Matthew was born, he came into the world with a twin, his sister Katherine, when they were kids their parrents, the rightful King and Queen of Emeraldonia, told them that they were royalty and were destined for greatness, but they didn't listen, so when they were both ten Matthew was sent away to Mage island, to train, when he became the age of 15 his teacher the respected Mage Isco, died, he became so outraged and furious that he almost destroyed his house, and so he was exiled like his relatives before them, so he decided to go home on his boat, the Luna, but a great storm rolled in and blew him off corse, so when he awoke with the scattered ship near him, he was scarred, alone, and afraid, but then he saw it, a giant door, the one he heard in the stories his family told him, he WAS home, he was at Gavel...

Character Strengths & Weaknesses/Abilities Section)
Every character has to have a strength and a weakness.
A character without strength is unable to live.
A character without weakness is too powerful to live.
Strengths (what the character is good at) - sailing, and swordfighting, and magic, oh yeah, eating
Weaknesses (what the character is bad at) - speech (he is shy, and his teacher was the only one he ever talked to), horse riding, and bows, I REALLY hate bows...

You can have a lot of abilities, but as long as they are balanced and easy to remember. I recommend sticking with five at the maximum.
Ability Name (what is the ability called) - Flashback
Ability Info (what are the effects) - I get a memory of Mage Isco, and go in a blind rage, can be wounded by ranged when I use this

Ability Name (what is the ability called) - Gaurdian
Ability Info (what are the effects) - can use a spell to summon a small Emeraldonian golem to fight for me, lasts 2 turns

Most of our activity is usually done on Skype.
Could you tell me why you can't get on Skype?
We can work out something.

 

I have a new computer which seems to not like skype for some reason; I can't even install it, and I can't really do it anywhere else...
I think the best way I can stay connected is with either a google drive "what are we going to do and what are we writing" sorta document, or if someone just tells me what we talked about >.<
or we could just use a convo.
