    - Endgame -
    Lost - Part II
Written by Haxii, Undead, J6Unlimited, SkellySniper, Lev, and XavierEXE

Suddenly, a burning red light tore through the snow covered darkness, stealing the attention of the corrupted nemeses away from their current victims.

    « ! »

    "Hyaah!"
There was a long pause, as both Aspects stared at the moving light. Through the dark snow, both saw a lone warrior clad in heavy armor. In his hand, an illuminating sword, burning with a roaring blaze. The warrior, though burdened by such a hefty suit of protection, sprinted towards the two assailants quickly, gaining distance them at full speed. Both averted their attention to the newcomer, believing that he would posed a bigger threat than the disarmed youth.

The ice lance was readied, as the monster hurled it toward the warrior instead of the girl trapped on the ground. He merely rolled under the incoming projectile with ease, keeping his momentum forward without pause. The colossal monster furrowed a smirk under its face, as it slowly moved forwards to take on this curious new challenger, its heavy steps slamming onto the ground like sledgehammers. Slowly picking up speed, soon both were rushing towards each other, closing the distance as they prepared themselves for a clash.

"I'VE GOT THIS ONE! THIS ONE IS MINE!"
The gauntlet on its hand puffing with steam, as the monster readied to strike. However, the warrior timed the attack precisely. Use his blade to block, he slid under the juggernaut, as the blade clashed against the metal gauntlet. He quickly turned around and slashed toward the beast’s leg, sinking the edge of his sword deep into the monster’s leg, as a searing fire caused the behemoth to howl in pain and fury.
    "Haaaaah!'
    "NRRRAAAAAAAAUUGGHH!"
The warrior stood up valiantly, before continuing his rush towards the other figure, standing within the dark blizzard.
    "YOU'RE GONNA REGRET THAT, RUNT!"

The flames that covered his blade quickly diminished upon entering the fray in a blistering cold atmosphere. His weapon illuminated with a radiant light, as the warrior raised his sword before him and drew a spell sigil. Soon after his beckon to the arcane, the tides of wind began to whirl around him, creating a cyclone. With a strong blast, the warrior pushed away the blizzard, purifying the battleground of the dark snow. He now had clear vision of both of his enemies.

However, as he did so, the colossal monster had just recovered back on its feet, and now both had complete vision of their opponent. The ironclad behemoth let out a thunderous roar and charged at the warrior at full speed, while the snow-cloaked figure prepared a barrage of projectiles aimed directly at her target.
"BECOME ONE WITH THE EARTH BELOW!"
"... This does not bode well..."

But just before the corrupted adversaries could do any harm, a familiar blazing spectre came crashing down from the sky, as if an extraterrestrial mass had struck the earth. The abrupt landing caught all fighters completely off guard, and as the dust cleared, she sprang up from her kneeling composure, dancing with joy. "WOO-HOO! Hey, look at me! Look, up in the sky! I’m a SUPERHERO~!”

It didn’t take long for Akyro to notice the other two Aspects, while a quirky grin was still widely imprinted on her face. That was until she noticed Aeon, resting just beside a rock & coughing up blood and dust, with his other friend writhing on the ground, and the other one traumatized at Death’s door.

Ohohohoho~! It's you! You’re that one kid that got iced... on ice… and looks like you’re standing... on thin ice now! Hahahahaha!~” Despite her repeated attempts, not even the slightest chuckle could be heard for miles.

“... C’mon, why aren't you laughing?! That was amazing! Fine, you’re all so boring…” She pouted, looking as if childish. Aeon paid no mind to her dissatisfaction, especially due to her blatant disregard for the atrocities that he and his friends had faced.

“Who… who’s that?” The bladesinger questioned. His eyes glazed over towards the warrior clad in silver.

“Oh, oh. Oh! That guy? His name is Will. I like him! We fought, and it was great, with magic and explosions and everything! Even though I kicked his ass just like I trashed you and your friends, I kept him around in case I need more entertainment in the future! Ehehe~” Akyro laughed on, but she was startled by a deathly glare from the warrior she had mentioned.

"If you're quite done talking about nonsense, we've still got these two to deal with. Also, watch your flank-!"

A spear of ice quickly flew toward Akyro while she was fooling around. As it closed in on her position, the former Aspect of Insanity simply deflected the projectile with a flick of her wrist, without even a glance in the same direction. Instead, her attention was on the larger enemy. The quirky grin on her face transformed into a menacing smirk, as she slowly walked up to the colossus.

“It’s been a while, Menin~!" Akyro said, willing her chains to float around her menacingly, yet somewhat playfully. "Didn’t your lovely mother ever tell you it isn’t nice to beat up kids~?"

“You better be ready to die for your sins, you traitor.” The colossal monster growled, slamming his gauntlets together in a flash of sparks and steam.

"Awww~! Come on, Menin, why you gotta be so mean~? I spent so many years trying to attend this reunion, and this is the kind of appreciation I get~?" Akyro continued to taunt the juggernaut, without fear of retaliation. She then turned to the woman next to her and continued her tirade of mockery.

"Oh, wow~! And you brought your lovely girlfriend, Kuraia! I guess you could say I’m… frozen in surprise? Hahahaha~!" Akyro laughed at her terrible pun, while her previous allies simply stood there, murderous intent still on their faces.

Gods above, I beg of you, end my misery right now, while I am still tormented. Aeon thought of darkness and closed his eyes, using all his might to slump back to the ground comfortably.

"SILENCE! I’LL BASH IN YOUR HEAD, AND THEN I’LL KILL ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS HERE!" Menin lept up to strike down the faded maiden, as Kuraia began to charge her next magical attack. In immediate response, William pointed his blade toward the air in a split second, and materialized a magic sigil into the air with swift, careful strokes. In front of his blade, a projection of arcane magic formed into the shape of a ringed pentagram.

Let him come… wait until he strikes...

As the steam-powered colossus reared his fists mid-flight towards the wielder of the azure blade, William raised his sword and blocked, absorbing the full power of the incoming attack. With a heavy swing, Will returned the full force of the attack he absorbed, unleashing a flash of sparks and electricity with a loud metallic screech. Menin was knocked back far, but he absorbed the reversal damage with his gauntlets. Digging his hands into the ground to break his fall, a smirk grew on the machination’s scarred face after a clash of great powers. Finally, worthy prey for the apex predator.

“Whew~♪! Not bad, hehe! This new Will puts on quite a show of strength...” Akyro whistled, watching Will enter the same signature pose he used in their own fight. She then turned her attention back to Kuraia, who had affixed her reticles on Akyro.

"Yoo-hoo~! Hey, Ice Queen~! Are you and I just gonna stand here and have a chat...? Or... hehehe…” Akyro’s chuckling turned into vicious snarling, her voice dropping to a considerably lower pitch. The air around her became uneasy, as feelings of dread soon occupied all in her proximity.

“Hahaha… heheheh... are we going to have some FUN?!"

Remaining silent in the face of such intimidation, Kuraia casted a lance of ice towards Akyro at high speeds. In response, the Nightmare Walker shattered the projectile to smithereens with a single swipe of her chains. A feral grin grew on her face, as Akyro launched herself at Kuraia.

“You won’t land a single hit on me if you keep using the same trick again and again-!”

But as she made that statement, the frost warrior merely raised her hand, rising a wall of much darker ice out of thin air. The wall halted Akyro’s approach, as it shifted slightly under the force of slamming into it. Just as she was about to strafe around the barrier to continue her frontal assault, three more obelisks rose, obstructing her way out before a final one had boxed her in.

"Oh! Wow! A new trick? Pretty cool… heehee! Now, shall we play some ice-breakers?" Akyro said, as she gathered her strength and smashed into the wall. Not a single crack. The wall remained the same.

"Phew~! Not bad, not bad... But you know what they say… Always think outside the box!"
Akyro said, putting even more power into her punch. Still not a sign of fracturing. She continued to pound her way out of the box, all focusing on one spot. The true ice kept freezing itself, repairing what little damage she managed to inflict. Once Akyro paused, she took a good look at the wall, then sighed, pouting like a small child.

“Aww, come on~! I can’t get to know you better if you’re always so cold, Kuraia!” But the frozen obelisks remained standing, and weren’t about to break anytime soon.

    « . . . »

A man, cloaked in a grey, rugged hood looked down at the figures below, patterned gray eyes glancing at the battle, observing the fighters.

“Interesting indeed… let’s see how that crazy girl gets out of this one….” He brought his hand to his chin in a thinking gesture.

“Hmm… Oh. It looks like the 'Ice Queen' has spotted me.” True to his thoughts, the aforementioned Corrupted began turning towards his direction.

Better not be revealed so soon… that girl better come out of this alive... telling me incomplete information…

Suddenly, the distortion reverted to its normal state, yet the man was nowhere to be seen. Down below, Kuraia glanced up at the mountaintop just after Akyro had been trapped.
    What was that?
