    When I first got the Study Results item and exchanged it for the Fire Infused weapon, all it gave me was just the weapon no stats at all. ;-; | Quest is also not completable due to this bug 2016-08-24_22.05.12.png

    As it turns out, you can just kill the Captured Root Golem with your normal weapon to progress to the quest.
    However, it seems impossible to get into the cave that Ragon sends you to, as killing the Root with a normal weapon does nothing. It is also impossible to pick up any of the items the Root drops, as the area around it is blocked by invisible blocks.

    Farming the Captured Root Golem to obtain scorched roots does not work either. This is probably because the roots obtained inside the cave are different items.
