Elemental Defense Question

I was looking through the wiki, and couldn't find anything that dealt with an issue I've been having recently. When wearing the chest armor Dust, it seems to be taking down more of my elemental defenses than it's supposed to. The item description says it takes a flat 15 from air, and then 4% from water. However when I wear it, I lose 15 of each elemental defense except for Thunder defense. Is this a bug, or is there an interaction between defenses that I don't know of? Also, I don't have any powders on the armor, so there shouldn't be anything taking more defenses. If anyone's had a similar experience, or knows what's causing it, I'd love to know! Thanks!

 

the compass shows the wrong elemental defense

 

The compass isn't working due to Jumla's perpetual black coffee. It will be fixed when he makes some tea (Which is SOONTM)

 

The compass is a traitor. It doesn't show your actual elemental defence, so you should manually calculate it.
