Elemental Defense Incorrectly Displayed

I have noticed an issue when using powders on armour, the elemental defense seem to never calculate correctly in defense info. When wearing a chestplate with -8 fire (foremerly -40) and leggings with +16 fire, it continues to display -24 fire as if I never added powders. I am not sure if it is just a display error, but I am worried that the effects aren't actually applied and my powders are wasted.

 

The compass menu is wrong, it's a display error. The powders are calculated correctly but the compass has been messed up for ages. In general, the stat boosts shown in the compass are accurate but the attack damages and elemental defenses are wrong.
