Hello everyone! It’s time for another Wynncraft update! Our last major update was back in April with the Corkus Update, when we added a whole new island with additional content for end-game players level 80+, with new quests, items, dungeons and secrets. This time, we focus our attention to the early and mid-game. But most importantly, the lore of Wynncraft. This is why this update is named... New Crate Rewards: We have more than 80 different rewards obtainable in our crates... yet, some of you still managed to get every single one of them. Multiple times. We’ve been asked a lot in the past year to make Godly rewards scrapable. Well, good thing we didn’t allow that, because we’re now adding a whole new tier above Godly named: Black Market items. These items are only obtainable by scrapping your Godlys’ rewards or being very lucky with a T3 crate. Hats, particles and reworked models are made by @Undyne Click the spoiler tag to see some of them! Spoiler This update also includes reworked Dern and Corrupted models (for some), new particle effects, new Wybels and of course, weapon models! New Quests: For every normal dungeon we have added a quest that must be completed in order to unlock it. This does not include Corrupted Dungeons. We felt there wasn’t any context or story to any of the bosses for the dungeons, and as they are a big part of the game, it felt wrong. So hopefully, these quests will make the dungeons that much more enjoyable! Poisoning the Pest (by Villageacules) - Level 2 - (Reworked Thieving Rodents) Sewers of Ragni (by Imaxelius) - Level 5 - There’s a sewer all blocked up (gross) with a foe so formidable the army has to deal with it. - Dungeon quest. Tunnel Trouble (by Abiswas) - Level 5 (Replaced A Confused Farmer) Arachnid’s Ascent (by Tantibus) - Level 14 - The spider population in Nivla is out of control. The army needs to break into the nest. This quest also features a brand-new Mt. Wynn! - Dungeon quest. Studying the Corrupt (by Ackro) - Level 21 - Bak’al wasn’t the only one to enter the portal and return... -Dungeon quest. The Dark Descent (by Selvut283) - Level 24 - Charon has been located deep in ancient Nemract. The army just needs to work out how to get in. -Dungeon quest. The Corrupted Village (by Abiswas) - Level 26 - (Replaced The Angry Village) A Sandy Scandal (by Villageacules) - Level 32 - (Replaced Drought Sand) Kingdom of Sand (by AscendedKitten) - Level 33 - The dead emperor is buried in a tomb in the desert, but there’s no way in without his sceptre. -Dungeon quest. Fate of the Fallen (by Imaxelius) - Level 43 - The story of Theorick, a legendary Hero who ruined Nesaak and fled, or was that really what happened? Find out in your first introduction to the mysterious Door of Time. -Dungeon quest. Corrupted Betrayal (by freddydrools) - Level 52 - Before Bob, Troms relied on a much darker hero to protect them, but when they no longer needed him, he was forgotten. Now he holds a grudge… -Dungeon quest. Redbeard’s Booty (by Imaxelius) - Level 61 - The first known pirate to sail the settled sea, Redbeard's treasure is legendary, but it’s not easy to claim. -Dungeon quest. Removed Quests: Lord of the Clock Prison Story The Relic Shrines A Confused Farmer Updated Content/Map: As some of you might remember we teased some Troms remake a few months back. We actually went around the Wynn province and updated a few of our builds that started to feel outdated. Those include.. - Ragni revamp (click the image to see the HQ non laggy version) - Troms revamp (click the image to see the HQ non laggy version) - New Detlas wall - New altar “Altar of Sanctification” (Lv. 70) - Reworked caves around Wynn. - And many other minor changes! Discoveries: Last update we introduced a prototype content feature in Corkus called “Discoveries”. In short - these are secrets of the game that are MEANT to be found (unlike easter eggs which are supposed to be hidden). During the development of Wynn, the story was always secondary to everything else. You had to learn about it through external sources, such as the forums. This update, we have tried to redirect some of the lore and story of the game back into the content directly. Which is why, along with some of the new quests, discoveries were added. They are little trinkets of action that are within the overworld itself which aim to give you more insight into the overall narrative. There are technically 2 types of discoveries, but the first one is very basic. As you explore the map you travel through regions, like Nivla Forest, Detlas, Troms, etc. As you do so, you will be prompted by a territorial discovery message such as “Territory explored: Detlas” and you will receive a little xp and some info on the area. This is a passive exploration reward and you will gather all the areas as you walk around. The second is the real content of this update. Around the Wynn plains (more areas will come in time) you will find little interactive areas where you can open up a hole or doorway or whatever it may be and really experience some of the world you play in! You may need to use a little logic or intuition to find them all, but it shouldn’t be too difficult. I don’t want to give too much away but some may even involve a little time travel! So put on your explorer hats and see what you can find! When you’ve found them all - there’s a little something at the end of it. (click the image to see the HQ non laggy version) Minor stuff: Rebalanced a lot of items, including mythics! Check this thread for items that have had updated skill point requirements: https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/special-warning.183776/ Changed (buff) XP reward values for most dungeons, including Corrupted Sand-Swept Tomb (nerf). The Hive shops now have refund merchants who will exchange Hive equipment back into vouchers so you can purchase a different one instead, provided you have a catalyst from the corresponding boss. All relics have been removed, though discoveries should give you plenty of new secrets to find. Relic items may become obtainable in some other way in the future. Bugfixes for the Seaskipper, along with new dialogue and a new destination: Galleon’s Graveyard. Various changes to NPC dialogue. Added several new items to help builds that were lacking options in the late game. Added several corruption spikes scattered all across the Wynn Province. Strong mobs will spawn nearby. Added a ruined battlefield area between the Detlas Suburbs and Roots of Corruption. Revamped Tree Island. Revamped one of the Icy Islands. Waterfalls around Wynn have been improved. Revamped mountain borders in most of the Wynn Province. All lakes and farmlands in the Wynn Province have been improved, along with a few other minor builds. Added a new endgame air spear. Added more possible elemental challenges to the Uth Altar fight. The elemental “mini dungeons” in the Canyon of the Lost have been replaced with normal caves. Added towers in Maro Peaks that house strong ranged mobs which will shoot you from afar, requiring you to get to a button to bring them down. The cannon part in Galleon’s graveyard has been changed completely as well as the Ship part in Royal Trials. Fixed several instances of powder drops not stacking. This change only applies to new powder drops, so old powders might still have the same stacking issue More masks are now purchasable in the Ravine Village. Added a new Glassblowing Merchant to Almuj, which unlocks after completion of the quest “Green Gloop”. The merchant can take leftover Slime Scoopers, among other things. Eluzterp will now take the Slime Scooper at the end of Green Gloop. Added new sandpile mobs around the Desert. Renamed and reorganized all of the songs in the jukebox to match a new format. New songs have been added as well. Dogovi has been renamed Maex. Mixed Feelings Script Improvements, skippable dialogue. If you missed it, JP has also been going on a bug fixing spree recently, you can read more about it here, here and here. Made Sand-Swept Tomb dungeon (including corrupted) more stable with teleports Wybel mobs are now 200% cuter. And more... HERO Beta + Release date: For this update, we will host a HERO beta server to test everything more in depth! Our quests have been becoming more and more complex as we became more experienced, and we feel it’s best to test all of the possibilities with hundreds of players instead of using a smaller team. Since this is a very lore-heavy update, we will create a new forum section where beta testers will be able to freely talk about the update and report bugs. Please try to avoid posting spoilers as much as possible in the other sections. If you wish to post a normal Wynncraft-related thread in the Wynn section but it contains some spoilers (without being the focus of the thread), use the spoiler tag. We know it’s practically impossible to prevent all spoilers in our day and age, but we’d like to keep them minimal for the players who want to discover them by themselves. The HERO Beta will go up in the upcoming days. Follow us on twitter, join our discord, or keep an eye on the news section to know when it will open! Keep in mind, the server is likely to have bugs, lag and various issues. If you want to experience the update in the best environment possible, wait for the actual release. Keep in mind, it isn't a guarantee that every HERO will have to the time to test the update. It's possible the beta server stays full from beginning to end. The official update will come out as soon as the major bugs are found and fixed. Expect something around a week or so after the HERO Beta is out.
