Does armor break when it reaches 0 durability?

Does armor break when it no longer has durability? Or does it have 0 durability?

 

Nope, the way durability works is, you know how crafted items have stats depending on the ingredients used? Well, starting at 50% durability, those stats will continually degrade as durability falls, hitting their lowest at 0, but the item never breaks, allowing you to repair it.

For tools, they don't break either, and can even still be used to get gathering exp, you just won't get the drops from gathering.
