Do I Need To Keep Corruption Relic Shard After Finishing Craftmas Chaos?

After killing the relicstone I got three untradeable(bot not quest item) corruption relic shard, one of them was taken.
And after talking to old tom I got another corruption relic shard(this time a quest item but not untradeable).
When talking to santa at the end of the quest he takes one of my untradeable corruption relic shard.
But I still have one untradeable corruption relic shard and one quest item corruption relic shard.
I can throw away the untradeable corruption relic shard.
Now I have one corruption relic shard as a quest item that was inside my inventory and I can't throw it away
