Did I just get really unlucky?

    I got to shadow amadel in the Wynn Excavation Site D quest and after killing him once, it wouldn't let me through, so I figured probably a multi phase boss. But then the boss never showed up again? and I finally found it right as I was about to die, it was up on a cliff in the room. It wasn't even targetting me and I don't know how I could've targeted it to kill it in the first place.
    Is this a bug or did I just get really unlucky?
    Quick edit 2 minutes later: I do have the Shadow Pendant, but I really don't want to have to go in again without being able to just continue

    Yes that's a bug. Sometimes when a boss charges, teleports, or goes to the next phase they can glitch out of the arena. Not very common, but I wouldn't put it as really unlucky.

    Yeah this happened to me once. He charged on top of one of the cliffs, then he used his pull attack and made me die of fall damage lol.
