Dern Logo!?

Just messing around with wynncraft logo...and I realized...this wouldbe perfect for Dern!

 

All you did was invert the colors. Not really creative enough for a logo.

That doesn't even look remotely good.

The logo should be black, not purple, and have green instead of blue. You could have changed the colors to something that looks better. The text should also give a spooky vibe, which this one doesnt even have text at all

It's the first time in years that I see someone on the art section not sugarcoat that something is bad lol. You're the first negative comment in that sense, congrats. People have such fears of saying things look bad, so it's definitely a good thing you don't have that fear, kudos. Then again, it's rather harsh, when the guy basically just clicked a button, while there's other people here on the forums who clicked two more clicks and made a meme and even if it was bad, people's expression wasn't so serious about it, because it's not meant to be serious. I can see ur wynn jingoism, no denying it.

Plus, talking about seriosity, can we really be critical with this guy? I mean, he just inverted the colors and he is saying it would fit dern. And I mean, in that context its a pretty valid observation. He didn't say this HAD to be the logo for dern, you know? Furthermore, if you saw the Zara screenshot a few comments above, in two more clicks you can re-invert the colors and add green easily to it, so being critical is so so convoluted.

Yeah, I guess you're right, but then, in my defense, the best way to help someone grow a pair of balls is to be harsh with them, which is why I dont necessarily think it's wrong to be harsh, unless you are being excessive with it, which I dont think I am being excessive at all.

 

It's not like this guy is an artist lmao. He was just bored and downloaded gimp > invert > done. lol. So, I'd say your reaction was exaggerated, since there's literally no substance that leads you to think this guy needs help lmao. Curiosity killed the cat?

 

Thank you. I never said that this took hours of work. I litteraly was just curious, and I was just sharing my observation. Again thank you for explaining this thread to people who can't understand what "just messing around" basically means. Or maybe they just don't have eyes? Sorry if this is a bit harsh but its my time for critism.

Don't worry bud, it's true. But hey, what if we call Soviet a visionary instead? He thought you were an artist at such low standards LOL, so it's not that his comment was on ill-intent, since if you were to be an artist, hearing something like that would have been on your best interest.

No, I'm no trying to take a shit on this thread. The only reason I was barely salty was the fact that you have a clickbait title and you delivered wynncrafts logo from 2014 with the colors reversed using a button, and then added the art tag to the title.

And yeah @Fox the only reason I agree with you on the lesson is because he gave out bullshit when I gave the most honest opinion I could give.

You're asking the wrong person, since I don't do those things, but it is a very common yet unorthodox tendency many people have.
Plus, you're questioning with the wrong context, since I never said you should or shouldn't do it, I only said a lot of people sugarcoat things, and the first time I see honesty on this forum, that it was being directed to the wrong person, since he isn't an artist, he was just sharing his observation(and many other people on these forums would fare so much better if they received honesty).

Which I mean, confusing that obvious context says more about you than you think, since if you're one to question me, you think of me as an authority due to the fact you're asking something nobody else should have to answer but yourself. Nobody can tell you what you can and can't do, but, there's a place and time for everything—if there wasn't, the concept "appropriate" wouldn't exist. Unless, you asked me because you needed guidance, but that's not the case.

Oh, and about these types of critiques, I recommend you read above, since the subject of this thread isn't quality, the guy was merely sharing his discovery from playing around in a photo-editing software, so it's pointless to be critical.

Doeee, is it really clickbait? He just said the inverted Wynn logo resembles what the Dern logo could look like. And, considering the Gavel logo was a polished version of the original, it is not a farfetched observation and quite valid. You're basically getting worked up because you expected an actual custom logo, yet that doesn't makes it clickbait.

Despite clickbait or not, that doesn't explains your behaviour on confusing him as an artist, so quite frankly I just think you can't really accept you made a mistake :p Because if you had from the beginning thought this was clickbait, you wouldn't have been critical about it, since clickbait even more validates it shouldn't have been taken seriously.

This thread would have been better on a forum section like Wynncraft or Nemract's Bar, though, but then again, its still media, so its valid for it to be on this forum section. But I am positive that if it had been on some other section, you wouldn't have misunderstood this thread :p

 

You don't understand, just look at this guys post history, he made two threads which i predicted would fail miserably.(and they did) 1. A machinima like youtube channel (bad editting, 9 yr old logic applied) and 2, a mmorpg server, which failed miserably aswell (no plugins etc)

And yes he is 9 ( or 10 ) which makes these things understandable, but you know what mentallity 9yr olds have, they think their ideas are so cool and they are easily influencable which is why he made the channel and the server (Oh look at all these youtube channels being rich, let me make my own! Oh look wynncraft is popular, let me make my own server! Its not like wynncraft had actual experienced coders with about 30 builders and custom plugins)

Younger audiences (12 borderline 11) shouldn't really interact with the forums, maybe a question or two, but not posting naive and illogical content with no real effort (in some cases). Or else this will happen.

 

I started going here when I was 11, and I actually liked it, even though a lot of people said "what the fuck" to my 5 year old posts... But sometimes I thought it was funny when people were harsh to you younger person (Like me at the time)

Nah either way, I just think this art is bad it should not even be posted. When I was 11 years old I was posting builds that took me 5 days to make, and I posted build I made IRL that looked like the ToA, and was pretty cool.
