Deja Vu Quest Stuck

I was doing the Deja Vu quest and I almost finished it, all I needed to do is Listen in to Old Man Martyn. By this time the dialogue should just go normally but it bugged for me and it's not giving me the dialogue. I can't really talk to Asher because he is frozen, I tried to get the shovel again, but it won't let me right click it. So I'm pretty much stuck and don't know what to do. I've even tried rebooting Minecraft and switched worlds 5 times.

 

just wait a while and it might fix itself when you talk to try and talk to Asher. That's what ended up happening for me

 

Ig this happened with me before, Did you try right clicking Asher with an empty hand? and with the shovel? Because you can't talk to some people when you have a weapon or an item in your hands.
