The crafting in game is almost not worth the grinding as is. While the ingredients can add extra effects the damage/durability of items are capped not to the players skill level but instead the ingredients. This does not seem like a good system. I believe the idea of being able to craft something with a high damage/durability should depend on the players skill level. In the current system it encourages players to ignore the skill level and focus completely on ingredients and materials they can ignore their skill level almost entirely unless they are making a item for a specific level. Making it so people NEED to focus on their skill levels to get good gear and removing the cap on the damage and durability would be amazing. You could for instance make it so that depending on a persons skill level they have a chance to get a unique effect on their item. The effect would be impossible to obtain outside of crafting it yourself. And the added chance of someone being able to make a weapon/Armour with high damage/defense out of level 1-10 items completely changes how people would treat professions. As it stands people view making items as not worth the time or effort. But by reworking the crafting systems and making it to where you have a chance of making items stronger than anything else and not needing high level materials but instead a high level craft proficiency. You would make people WANT to raise their proficiency level. Reviving what is a almost dead part of the game.

sir... or maam, you know that its not just the ingredients right? you need to use higher level materials to get higher base damage, more durability and longer durations. so although i agree professions and crafting may have to be reworked im pretty sure it already makes you focus on your level

True but at the same time I think the skill level should still play a bigger role than it currently does.
