Crafting issue

Is there some kind of crafting guide that shows the recipes? Because even when I combine the items for level 1 stuff, I still can’t craft anything. I’m not sure if I’m missing something or if I need to start a specific quest first to unlock it or something?

I feel like I’m doing everything right but nothing works. Am I missing a step?
