Countdown

Hey, so you know that countdown twitter that Salted is doing? And how everyone is like "GAVEL IN FIVE DAYS OMFG"?

Well, what if the countdown isn't for Gavel? They never stated on the teitter what the countdown was for. The only comment from them about the countdown is about the mob in it, and the number of days left. The number of days left to what?

Plus, when asked what the twitter countdown was for, Salted responded with this:

So what do you think the countdown is for? The staff have never confirmed that it is for Gavel!

However, the most recent trailer for Gavel stated that it would be released in Fall 2015, and the countdown just so happens to end on the last day of fall, Dec. 20. Winter starts on Dec. 21, so who knows? Maybe they will keep their deadline for Gavel, releasing it in fall, technically. Who knows?

 

There was the post in News - the countdown could be for the livestream.

 

Uh, didn't Grian say the livestream was going to be on the 18th of December?

 

yeah, which means the stream is two days early. It seems to be the release to me

 

I think he did it's supposed to be this Friday, Dec 18.

 

... And Grian said Gavel would be released a few days after the stream! So, by a "Few" it may mean two or more! Brilliant!

 

Since the livestream's supposed to be one week before Gavel, I think this makes sense.

 

3 days left means one day after the stream...

 

I hate my computer... Why'd it have to break THE WEEK BEFORE GAVEL IS COMING OUT LIKE WHY!

Pls make Gavel next weekend not this weekend... Or I'm not going to be one of the first Lvl 100s...

 

I know how you feel - my computer was busted a few days ago and I thought I'd never get it fixed in time. Luckily, it worked itself out :D

 

Actually, the last day of fall is December 21st- winter comes at approximately 12:00 AM December 22nd.

 

It doesn't make sense that they'd be releasing Gavel so early when they've just got beta-testers in. The beta-testers need to play through the whole of the Gavel update to make sure there's no bugs or anything game breaking (Dupe Exploitation, Quest Glitches, Weapons and Spells not working they way they should). I very much doubt they'll be able to test (and try to break) the entirety of Gavel within the supposed short time period we have.

Also, as said, the count down never said "5 Days Left Until Gavel" (, it just said "5 Days left"), but a few people said "OMG IT MUST BE GAVEL" and so then it became common knowledge that that's what the "x Days Left" meant, even though it was never specifically stated that that's what it is. As much as the news thread said that Gavel would be released "A few days after the stream", it's probably going to be some time in the week, because if it was on the Saturday/Sunday, they'd have said a couple days, instead of a few.

Though they could just be saying a "Few" to not give a definite date, as a "Few" is no defined number, just a small number. Plus, it'd be a little annoying for those still in school to have Gavel released on Sunday, but then have to go back to school the next day.

 

Good thing my Winter Break starts this weekend then! xD I get a whole 2 weeks to play Gavel

let's see, hundreds of players were waiting gavel for months including me, and when it was about to be relased, your computer broke an you want hundred of people waits again just because one people? think about other players!, and what if you're not going to be the first one to get to level 100?

 

I don't get this huge rush to level 100. Sure, you can credit yourself as one of the firsts, but in the time you spend rushing around, grinding for XP, you won't be having much fun exploring Gavel. I personally aren't going to try to level too much, I'll treat Gavel as a "Stop and smell the flowers" province, rather than "Kill everything that makes the green go further to the right".

 

1. I think that the countdown is a code... why? These things always have codes. Search through those mob names!
2. I think that the countdown is until the announcement thread for the Gavel update, which Salted said would be a few days before.

 

It was obviously a joke... did you have to shut me out? I know they won't stop Gavel from releasing just because of one player ._.
