Countdown Mini-theory

As many of you should know, there is a countdown going on on twitter, and the majority are speculating that it's about Gavel Release Date, but I personally think that it's about Gavel Release Date Announcement.

Why? Well, first of all, Gavel Beta-Testing is going on now. And unless if the Beta-Testing is useless, just for the testers early access, the staff can't just correct bugs in less than 4 days.

And Salted said this, that changed my opinion:
"We did post a 5 days countdown on twitter. I'm not saying what it's for, though."

Also, if it was the release date countdown, why there aren't any treads on the forums, that is the best way of spreading information about WynnCraft?

But there is still an unanswered question:
Why Salted/Grian/Jumla didn't say that it's not the release date countdown, even knowing that would be kind of disappointing for the majority of players? Maybe, they aren't sure that they can finish and release everything in the next few days. If they could, they release, and if they couldn't, they announce when Gavel releases.

EDIT: Actually the countdown is for Gavel to be done, sadly done, but not released.

 

Yea, I kind of agree, it would be funny if the whole "5 days left" thing was just to announce something stupid.

Pretty sure the countdown is for the beta opening, due to Grian's recent post.
EDIT: @Comimato corrected me, the beta test has begun. However I don't think beta testing is possible in only... What, 3 days now?

They've been doing this for an entire year now.

It usually goes:

Give a BS place holder date for when Gavel won't be released. Make sure to stress the fact that this time, Gavel is actually coming literally soon and not soon™.
Watch as the naïve new players get hyped spam the forums with gavel threads. (but hey, at least we can farm easy likes by copypasting the hype train pic url)
Wait a few weeks, for when the hype goes down, then post a convenient last minute excuse to delay Gavel until another place holder date
Make sure to stress the fact that this time, Gavel is actually coming literally soon and not soon™ like each previous time it was said;
Watch as the naïve new players trust that statement and spam low quality threads with just a phrase or a picture.

Rinse and repeat.

Maybe this time, Gavel is actually coming soon.

But then, five months ago, it was going to be released soon too. And that "soon" was supposed to be a real soon, and not a game developper's lie when they say "soon".

We all know how it went.

Let's not get our hopes up too high, even though we can still be let down while expecting nothing.
