You have seen normal dungeons and areas around them, just normal terrain.
But then you get to the Forgery and currupted dungeons. Their area extremely devastated by the corruption. You have seen that too.

My question is, WHERE is are the corrupted dungeons located. In paralel universes? In your imagination?

    What do you think?

I'm not sure if the dungeons are set in a parallel universe... Well, they might be but it's definitely set in a future so let's just call it an alternate future. It's clear that it's not the present because every dungeon shows that the bosses are aware of you:
    - Witherhead tells you that you've come to the Decrepit Sewers before, and that you shouldn't be alive.
    - Arakadicus says that you're a familiar face.
    - Garoth says he can't wait to meet you face to face again and tells you not to put your hand into a fire the second time.
    - Charon says that you can't be let past again and won't fall for your tricks again either (also he seems to make regular zombie noises. Is he so corrupted that he's just turning into some mindless zombie?)
Something to note with Corrupted Underworld Crypt is that, according to Graken, the whole corruption thing happened right after you defeated Charon the first time. This might mean that this corrupted world from the Forgery is an alternate universe where corruption may have taken over in an instant right after you - the player - left. It makes the whole timeline a bit complicated but we'll see if it makes sense later.
    - Interestingly, Hashr doesn't mention knowing you. However, he does say that a "new" force has spread within his tomb. So does he compare that force with the previous time you were at the tomb? who knows.
    - At the start of the Corrupted Ice Barrows, Theorick states that he told you "it" would fail. The "it" he is talking about is referring to your attempt to free Theorick from his curse in the original Ice Barrows dungeon. The thing with this dungeon is that it is a fairly plausible future to the events that you caused.
    - Lastly, we saw a glimpse of Slykaar in the 1.19 trailer, where he states that he has simply become more powerful since your last visit.

So yeah all of this means very clearly that the corrupted world takes place in a future, and a grim one at that. It's basically a future where the worst possible outcomes came true, that's my guess. The Forgery is probably some unknown and ancient tool that allows you to visit these alternate futures. I'm guessing lore-wise it was probably used by ancient Gavel residents to foresee certain outcomes if certain things were to happen, and to prevent them from happening. I don't know why the Forgery sends you to dungeons in Wynn though.

Because there are no dungeons in Gavel of course.

I would like to note that even that Theorick said "it failed" the CIB area is pretty normal compared to other corrupted dungeons.

About the forgery: I didn't mean game mechanics-wise, I meant lore-wise. We haven't yet been given a good reason why some floating rock in Gavel sends us to alternate/future/alternate future versions of stuff back in Wynn.
Also, the CIB area is still (kinda) ok because of the ice magic slowing the corruption. Apparently defeating Theorick doesn't reverse the ice magic, but frankly the dungeon lore was quite unclear on that.

Well, i just completed the craftmas chaos quest and in it we are going in past and our action triggers events that shouldn"t happen (corruption/destruction of the island). At the end of the quest Tom says that the city will be reconstructed. But when we're back in the right nothing is destroyed.
In the quest, the "destruction" happens 30 years before the moment when the players meets tom for the first time. Then, we're going 60 years after (destroyed selchar) and finally we go back 20 years before (where we are from) and nothing is corrupted.

So you will ask me "dude, why are you talking about craftmas chaos ?"
Well, what i tried to explain is that i think that it is an alternative future due to an event that gone wrong in another timeline.
Also, after the quest we still able to go in the destructed selchar so it proves that parallel timelines/universes can exist in the Wynncraft world.

Tldr: It's both paralel universe and future.
