Confusion: Resolved

OK, we've had a few questions about neutral damage in a thread or two, if I remember correctly, and there are at least two issues, possibly related, on the GitHub. So, here is what I added to one of the issues on the GitHub, because, frankly, I'm stumped as to what is going on here.

After a bit of video capturing, and copying and pasting from one of my classes, I've got this, below.

Bob's Mythic Wand, which is a purely neutral wand, appears to be doing both Earth and Fire damage. Right below that, a Lunar Spine, which is a neutral and Water wand, appears to be doing Water, Earth, and Fire damage. Coding glitch in calculations? Coding glitch in visual reporting? I have no idea, however, I would certainly like to know what is happening so that whatever this is, or appears to be, we can pass the word along to players, in general, that ask about it.

 

Have you used the meteor spell ? it does fire, neutral and earth damage.

 

I think some spells do elemental damage. I imagine you're using meteor with the wands, which is why fire and earth have been added.

 

OK, so, when is the neutral damage supposed to show up? With spells? Without spells? Both?

 

Most spells damage with the elements your weapon has (including neutral) along with 1-2 other elements. This pretty much happens with all spells, but there's a bigger variety for mage spells. The damage of your regular attacks is simply the damage your wand deals.

 

And the neutral damage is represented by the first Heart symbol. Got it. Thank you both, so very much.
