Compass Professions Showing Incorrectly?

    So when I go to my character info I and hover over my farming skill it says I'm at farming level 71 but when I just pull out the compass it says its 64. I have only been playing for a month and I heard that the compass can kinda be broken but I can't find any really definitive information on it. Should I just file a bug report? Or is a super well know glitch?

    the default stack limit is 64 in minecraft so it doesnt go past 64 sometimes
