Lore/Story Commentary On Cowfusion

I did the Cowfusion quest yesterday and felt like writing something about it so here you go:

Today I experienced something incredibly strange. While trying to find my way through the Canyon of the Lost, I stumbled upon a farmer in need of help. Naturally, I assured him I'd do my best to assist him. The farmer told me about his missing cow, while blatantly complaining about a nearby scientist who seemed to be stealing them. After hearing this suspicious story, I decided to check out the scientist’s cave to rescue the missing cow.

Upon arriving there, it was easy enough to get him to listen to me. Once he saw my bow, he immediately told me where I could find the cow. I approached the center of the cave, where the cow was located, and then the weirdest thing happened…

A strange sensation came over me, but it felt like nothing was wrong at all. I approached the wizard again, only to find out that everything he said was incomprehensible to me. Confused, I left the cave and headed back to the farm.

After feeling a rather strong attraction to the hay on the ground, I suddenly realised what was wrong. I had become a cow.

I spoke to one of the other cows on the farm and he explained the scientist’s mad plans. I realized, for the sake of cows and humans alike, that I needed to stop him. The friendly cow gave me instructions on how to find the Secret Cow Society (who would have thought that that existed?) who would be able to help me.

After speaking to the society’s leader, being initiated in the milking machine (which was extremely weird) and obtaining advice form the Holy Spirit, Lord Moo’in, I was able to enter the scientist’s hideout through a secret entrance.

I luckily managed to overpower the wizard, only seconds before he was able to complete his evil plan. After finding the cure that would turn me back again, I returned to the farmer and informed him that the wizard had been dealt with. He thanked me and wished me luck on the rest of my travels.

After this incredibly strange turn to my day, I walked away, wondering where I vaguely recognized the society’s leader from...

 

Ironically, I did that quest yesterday for the first time.
