   dont worry about elemental defense
   i am level 42
   my climbing helmet gives +37 raw melee damage

   Climbing Helmet gets you higher DPS and has XP/Loot bonus, as well as 10 skill points. I'd say it's much more useful overall.
   
   At level 43, do Fate of the Fallen and get Avalanche, it's a really good helmet.
