If you search up on google, "clavis in latin" and scroll down, you will find a little google window that says "What is a Clavis?"

This is the answer they give:
Clavis (クラヴィス Kuravisu) is an elevator operator in the arbiter system, as well as a personal valet to Nona. His task is to transport arbiters and guests between floors.

There is a teleporter in Mehme's house to leave the home, but what is on the other side of the door that we cannot enter? A teleporter to Nohno's secret place?? There was also a broken teleporter that you had to repair in the gert camp with the mechanical chip. We have found Mehme's and Yahya's secret hideaways. Nohno and Sohso are left. Obviously, with this Clavis thing, Nohno is our next clue. I am pretty sure Sohso is the last quest NPC we have to talk to. Or, I might be entirely wrong and Clavis is an NPC that will take us on an elevator ride to Nohno's lab. There is an elevator in Rymek.

Also in the description the definition of a Clavis says to teleport us between different floors; maybe once we find this clavis guy we have to go through floors of puzzles?

Well, from what we know of that one thread showing the rewards to ???, i can say the NPC theory was debunked, and elevator wasn't even considered.

The key translation was the most likely option because the devs wpuldn't make a hit THAT encrypted

Effort however is clearly seen, and i'll give credit where due. But next time, don't go that far deep into a small hint, the devs are not that crazy, i think...
