Clarification On Thorns And Reflection.

So, I was fooling around with my Nulli setup, when I noticed that my reflection wasn't activating on spells. So, I ran some tests with some friends, and we discovered that reflection only activates on melee arrows shot by archers.

Is this intended? Was reflection ever intended to block spells? I also learned that thorns reflects everything but melee arrows.

I mean, it's more of a PvP thing, so I don't think it matters that much, but how are reflection and thorns supposed to work? I've heard several people tell me that reflection was for spells and thorns for melee, while I've heard an equal number of people tell me that thorns was intended for close-combat attacks, and reflection for ranged ones. In PvE, the system works fine. thorns does melee attacks from mobs, while reflection does projectiles. But, in PvP, thorns is miles ahead in usefulness compared to reflection.

I'm almost certain reflection should be doing more in PvP. But, I'm not exactly sure what it should be doing. Should it be countering projectile attacks, or spells?

 

reflection activates from mob spells, thorns from mob attacks (doesnt matter if ranged or not)
pvp is a glitchy mess so i have no idea how it works

 

Ok thanks. Pvp is odd, thorns does all the work and reflection only works for archer melee (lol).
