If a city has lore regarding its orgins, you will find it here.
Vote in the pole above. Not to sure what to do here

    Ragni:
As seen in the opening lines of this WikiLore page:
    https://wynncraft.gamepedia.com/Storyline
There are quite a few things we can derive just from this single sentence:
A- Ragni is not considered a city, such as Detlas, or even a town, or port city, such as Nemract. Rather it is a Fortress. There are only two fortresses; one being Ragni and the other being Troms.
B- Ragni is ancient; over 1,000 years old.
C- Ragni was created before the villagers arival in wynn.
Another quote directly from a in-game quest, King's Recruit:
This fortress is old af from this, and also to be learned from this is that the city is old, even compared to Ancient Nemract.
    Magical Creation:
It is most likely that Ragni was created entirely by magic, considering at the point in time of which Ragni was constructed, Humans were at there peak of magical power.

    Maltic:

Now this is a interesting one, and thankfully lots of lore is provided. There is a small chance that the reference lore may be inaccurate, but I doubt it is to change because it is a major lore thingy. It's kinda like changing Bob's story or smth. It's just not likely to happen
Approximatly 100 years ago, a ship from Gavel, named the S.S Newfounder sailed upon the shores of Wynn.
It turns out that the ship is stuck in the sands, and will be so until the next solstice, when the tides will be at there highest.
In order to survive the Villagers of Gavel create small and temporary village, named Maltic to survive.
    https://map.wynncraft.com/#/-571/64/-1979/max/0/0
Now, it is important to know that at this point in time, the humans of Wynn had no clue that Gavel existed, and conveniently they were desperatly in need of help in the war against the mobs.
Long story short the humans bribed the villagers to help them in the war with emeralds.

Soooo, the Villagers ended up not only staying in Wynn, but bringing over even more villagers to Maltic, until Villagers started moving into Human cities. The city of Maltic has remained ever since, and the origional boat that carried the Villagers over still remains, and is the focus of the Quest 'Underwater'

    Detlas

This town isn't called "The Trading Town" just because in-game lots of players use this city as a meeting place for trades of all sorts, whether to buy sell or advertise, There is another reason, directly lore-tied:
As the villagers started to move into Wynn, the population of this province made a big jump. With the raised population a more active trade system was put into place.
Since Wynn was a rather large place; several strategically place cities were built: Almuj in the desert and Detlas in the plains.
From this bit of lore we learn that Detlas is a rather new city, around 100 years old, but that age isn't for sure, due to un-released lore changes.
Detlas during construction was created to be the twin of the Island-City of Selchar:

    Nemract:
Around a thousand years ago humans became brave and started to expand beyond there borders of ragni and some other residences. This resulted in them building the first version of Nemract (now called Ancient Nemract - https://wynncraft.gamepedia.com/Ancient_Nemract )
When humans disrupted the 'peace' of monsters, and potentially dern-creatures, (a really long bit of lore, which can be read here: https://wynncraft.gamepedia.com/Storyline ) The first thing that was destroyed was... Nemract. Which is the reason for the decrepit appearance of Ancient Nemract, and the high population of monsters there.
A while after, with a un-specified date, but most likely after the villagers arrival, a new city was built, and was given the same name as Ancient Nemract; Nemract.
The city was built as a port city, and it right on the ocean side.

    Almuj:
Skipping a few towns here; due to minimal lore (These towns may be added in other parts of this series)
Almuj is the wealthiest of all towns, or at least in Wynn.
It was created around the same time as Detlas, and for the same purpose as well.
    Better trade.
Resources were availble in the desert region that aren't available anywhere else, which is most likely a large factor in why Almuj was constructed. Another reason for its construction was its strategic position: placed in a very in-between spot, which is good for trading.

When times began to get better for the two races residing in Wynn; Villagers and Humans, the town became a rich one. (this is all guess work, probability is high though) Though there are cons to living in the desert, such as drouts and limited food.

So while a large portion of Almuj citizens live in comfort, famine and homelessness is a problem.

    Rymek:
Rymek is place in the Mesa. And in the Mesa there are a few tribes:
    upload_2017-10-21_18-41-58.png
This is most likely the reason that the mesa is home to a rather large town (Rymek).
As far as I can figure out, the two tribes, The owl tribe and the eagle tribe, were not the only two tribes long ago, there was a third... Of un-known history. My idea is that maybe the advanced from a tribe to a city.

It's 100 years old, because Villager Arrival was changed from 10 to 100 to accomodate expanding lore.

Was. It's very possible that Ragni started out as just a fort, with a city later growing around it.
    *their
I find this unlikely. Rymek seems to have been settled by Wynn humans looking for gold. It's possible that as the gold ran out, it became the criminal hotspot it is now. There's also an abandoned tribal camp in the South of the mesa, this is probably the remains of the third tribe. I see no logical reason for the third tribe to be doing so much better than the other two.
