Hello. :) I'm really bad at making builds, but I think I've decided that I want to center around doing thunder damage. The problem is that I can't choose between Chakram and Roulette. My Roulette has a 1110% boost for thunder damage, but very few stat increases, plus Chakram has poison. I also have Roiling Ruckus, but I don't think I have the energy to consider it right now, haha.

Anyone more knowledgeable know which, Chakram or Roulette, are better for dealing damage? My Parang did more damage than the Roulette with less stat boosts, but the Parang is only a unique, so I feel like I'm messing something up. xD

Hello! It's great that you're looking to focus on thunder damage in your build. To decide between Chakram and Roulette, you'll need to consider several factors, including your character's playstyle, the synergy with your other equipment, and your overall build strategy. Let's break it down:

    Chakram:

    1. Thunder Damage + Poison: Chakram provides thunder damage, which is your primary focus. The additional poison effect adds some versatility to your attacks, as it can deal damage over time. Poison can be particularly useful against enemies with high health pools or when you need to focus on multiple targets simultaneously.

    2. Status Effects: Poison can also inflict status effects, which might have secondary benefits. For example, it could reduce the enemy's damage output or limit their mobility, making it easier to control the battlefield.

    3. Stat Boosts: You mentioned that Chakram might have better overall stats than Roulette. This is crucial because while a high damage modifier is important, your character's base stats, like attack speed and critical hit chance, can significantly impact your overall damage output.

    4. Synergy: Consider if you have other gear or abilities that enhance poison damage or the Chakram's abilities. If you already have gear that boosts poison, it could make Chakram an even more attractive choice.

    5. Playstyle: If you enjoy a more tactical approach, where you apply debuffs and control the battlefield, Chakram could be a good fit. Poison allows you to adopt a hit-and-run strategy, causing damage while staying relatively safe.
    Roulette:

    1. High Thunder Damage: Roulette boasts an impressive 1110% boost for thunder damage. This makes it a strong choice for burst damage. If your playstyle revolves around dealing massive damage quickly, Roulette's thunder damage boost is hard to match.

    2. Stat Weakness: Roulette's main drawback is its lack of additional stat boosts. In RPGs, stats like attack speed, critical hit chance, and attack power play a significant role in your overall damage. If Roulette lacks these stat boosts, you'll need to make up for it with other equipment.

    3. Synergy: Check if you have other gear that boosts thunder damage or complements Roulette's abilities. If you can find gear that compensates for the stat deficiencies while further enhancing your thunder damage, Roulette becomes an even more formidable choice.

    4. Playstyle: If you prefer a straightforward, high-damage approach, Roulette can deliver that. It's a weapon that excels in taking down enemies quickly, which can be ideal for boss fights or challenging encounters.
In summary, your choice between Chakram and Roulette should be based on your preferred playstyle, gear synergy, and the balance between high damage modifiers and additional stats. Both weapons have their strengths, and you might find situations where one is more effective than the other. Experiment with both and consider how they fit into your overall build and the challenges you face in the game. Additionally, keep an eye on your character's progression and how new gear or abilities might impact your decision in the future.

Roulette has high thunder damage, which means it's better off with an archetype that has more thunder conversions on it's spells

so in short Roulette is better with shadestepper or trickster, and Chakram is better for damage(with some tier 4 powders) as acrobat

this is of course only damage wise
both weapons only require Dexterity so you could dualwield them if you meet the requirements
