Can You Pick Up Death-dropped Items?

Every good thread should have a tragic backstory. So I was in Bremminglar when I decided to go AFK for a few minutes. I came back about 10 minutes later confused. Why did I have no Soul Points? Ohh... Turns out I had been followed to the town by several low level Ocelots and killed multiple times until I dropped all my items. When I returned I looked around but couldn't find any of y items. Can you pick up items when you have Perma-Died or does the Server do a item delete sweep which gets rid of ground items? I need an answer to make sure this doesn't happen again.

 

/class, never go afk in game. doesnt matter where, not even detlas bank is safe. DONT TRUST WYNNCRAFT!

 

Sadly, your items have been lost due to either of these reasons:
1. They despawned due to nobody in the chunks
2. Somebody else picked them up since there is no drop protection

 

To actually answer the question: yes. However, if the chunks you died in are unloaded, the items will be deleted. They also disappear after 5 minutes, like all minecraft items.

 

Don't they despawn after twenty seconds if dropped by death?

 

No, that's the timer for how long you have to wait to pick up somebody else's items.

 

Yes, but what if you are stuck in a hole/wall or something

 

gotta do /kill, its something all mages know too well when tping into walls. RULE #1 KEEP SOULPOINTS HIGH. if they get to half switch to playing on another class and wait for them to refill. its not worth losing all your progress and items.
