Hey everyone! My name is vulplus,

I respect the choice of the admins and the content team to reset the applications (9 pages is a pain to read through I guess + Gavel updated the game mechanics waaaaaaaayyyyy to much)
Now I applied in June 2015, and never got denied nor accepted. I thought this was going to happen and allot of mods/gms already said it was going to take a while. I'm going to write an new application later (better than the first one) but I didn't want the old one to get lost. That's why I decided to take it to the forums.

Enjoy reading it, as it will be lost in the archives for ever... ever... ever... (spooky echo)
ps. Some music that might be nice for you while reading.

    Distillery Dysfunctions:
    Lvl 25, normal quest

Behind the counter in Nemract’s bar there will be a ladder to a basement. The basement will be filled with barrels and a distillery. Chivas will be standing near the distillery.

When you talk to Chivas before you are lvl 25:
[Chivas] What are you doing here; it’s a bit odd for a customer to come here?
[Chivas] I really don’t have time for visit now so please go back upstairs.

When you talk to Chivas when you are at least lvl 25:
[Chivas] Whoa! You scared me a bit, it’s not usual that a customer comes down here. Normally people don’t come in this basement without my permission, but I always love some visit so I will allow it for once.
[Chivas] O blimey, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Chivas, I am the owner of this bar. I assume you’ve already visited this bar a couple of times?
[Chivas] Yes… it is indeed a quite notorious place in Nemract. Sailors and adventurers from the whole of Wynn come here to take a rest and drink something.
[Chivas] You know I see myself as a modest villager, but I believe my bar is the reason why Nemract is such a flourishing trade port.
[Chivas] Believe it or not but I brew all this special whiskey with my own hands! Let me show you…
[Chivas] This room is where I brew all of it, years of hard work have gone into my whiskey but I love doing it.
[Chivas] My old distillery is broken and I can’t really use it anymore, so I bought the parts to build a new, better one. I am actually going to test it out right now. You’re just in time to see it in action...
[Chivas] How do I start this again… Ah yes so first turn this… Now I turn this around…. Connect this pipe… then that… All ready to go! It won’t take that long before we can see the liquid coming out of this tube.
[Chivas] … Erm… Wait, that isn’t supposed to happen! ... O no! The pressure is going up... [Chivas] This is not how it should function…
    [Chivas] Watch out!

<You get blindness and hear the sound of an explosion>

When you talk to Chivas again:

[Chivas] This is a disaster, something must’ve been wrong with the parts. Without this I can’t make my whiskey anymore and that means the end of my bar!
[Chivas] How is this possible, before my assistant constructed it I checked all the parts … This is a disaster for the whole of Nemract!
[Chivas] I guess I need to go get new parts, but I have to keep an eye on my bar. You seem like a strong adventurer, would you mind helping me out?
[Chivas] Great! The parts of the distillery are made by a guy named Arran, he lives in Selchar. He should be able to give some new parts for me to fix this mess.
[Chivas] I would go myself but like I said before I need to keep an eye on this place, I trust my assistant but he is a bit clumsy.
[Chivas] Thank you ever so much, I hope to see you back soon!

When you talk to Chivas after you have started the quest:
[Chivas] Do you have the parts yet? I really need to make some new whiskey, my stock is running out. If I can’t make some new whiskey we’ll have to close the bar.

Arran will be located in a house in Selchar, his house will have some machinery in it and some forges in it. He’ll be standing outside in front of his door.

When you talk to Arran before you started the quest:

[Arran] Sorry, I’m busy crafting something, maybe come back later when my work here is done.

When you talk to Arran after you started the quest:
[Arran] Hello there. What do you say… Nemract’s bar… That doesn’t really ring a bell…
[Arran] O wait, now I remember! Yes, the bar of Chivas you mean? I made the parts for his distillery a couple of weeks ago, one of the best I made in years.
[Arran] It broke?!? That’s terrible, but how did it happen? You don’t know either…
[Arran] This is a big problem, since I have used all my materials to make those parts and I’m frankly out of those right now.
[Arran] The parts certainly didn’t break, they are forged well and can stand a few bumps.
[Arran] Maybe something else happened on the ship, I will ask our Harbour Master to check if something might have happened during the transportation, he keeps record of all his ships. Come back later.

When you talk to Arran again:

[Arran] Ah it’s good to see you back!
[Arran] I have informed the Harbour Master and he said the sea was pretty rough that day.
[Arran] I noticed that there were 3 parts missing who got loaded on the ship but never reached Nemract. That’s probably the cause of this issue…
[Arran] The Harbour Master in Nemract is a lazy guy and did probably not check if all the cargo was still there.
[Arran] If you find those 3 parts Chivas will be able to run the distillery without any problems. I don’t know much about the currents, but one thing is sure: The parts washed ashore somewhere on the beach.
[Arran] Here is a drawing of how they should look; it might be easier to find them with it. Who knows where they might be? [You receive a paper named “Distillery Part Drawing”] I’ll inform Chivas while you’re searching so that he isn’t worried too much.

When you talk to Arran again:
    [Arran]
Did you find them yet? You would better start searching if you want to help Chivas.

The player will have to go search the 3 parts somewhere on the Wynn Coastline. A few random NPC’s will give a hint what might have happened to the parts and where they might be now. The three parts will be located in:

    - An eagle’s nest

    - The hands of a beachcomber

    - A tribe who believes it is a sign of their Gods

You need to have the drawing in your inventory to show it to hint villagers, that way they can give you clues of where to search. It is not necessary to talk with them; the player can just stumble upon the parts without even noticing the hint villagers.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    [1] The first part:

Sadim is a villager who gives a hint about where a part might be. He has a house near the coast and he’s standing outside. It is not necessary to talk with him!

If you talk to Sadim before you started your search for the parts or you don’t have the drawing in your inventory or the quest is already over:
[Sadim] That damn bird! One day I will get him!

    If you talk to Sadim:
[Sadim] That bird took my socks again… Someone needs to do something about it…
[Sadim] O hey there! Is there something I could do for you?
[Sadim] Hmm... I see… I have not seen what you are looking for… But I might have an idea were something like that could be.
[Sadim] You know, our village has been terrorized by a big eagle many times. He steals everything he sees. I can’t let my socks dry in the sun after I washed them or he takes them.
[Sadim] He has a strange addiction of taking random stuff and bringing it to his nest. His nest is up there on the cliffs. The path is hard to climb so be careful.

If you talk to Sadim again:

[Sadim] Have you checked the eagle’s nest already? What you are looking for might be there!

The nest is placed against cliffs on the side of the coast. It’s a very big nest but still hard to see from far distance and it overlooks the beach. A small winding path is leading up to it, but there are holes here and there and it’s kind of a little jump parkour. In the nest there will be an eagle:

    Eagle
    Mob: Chicken (adult form)
    Health: 160
    Attack Damage: 5 (Melee)
    Ability: /

The Eagle will be pretty easy to kill and it is more to let the players use a bit more tactics than just walking in there and obtaining the part. The nest will be filled with random “junk”, item frames with armour, tools, weapons, misc. items in it. In one item frame a pair of white stained leather boots with the name Sadim’s Socks will be placed. This won’t affect the quest and the player doesn’t need to do anything with it. The player can find the item somewhere behind in the nest and can pick it up at any time.

[You pick up [Distillery Part 1] -> renamed hopper and untradeable]

    [2] The second part:

Grove is a villager who is standing on the coast facing the ocean close to Maltic. It is not necessary to talk with him!

If you talk to Grove before you started your search for the parts or you don’t have the drawing in your inventory or the quest is already over:

[Grove] The wind is pretty rough today huh? I just love to watch the boats sailing past, it makes me relax.

    If you talk to Grove:
[Grove] This isn’t really something you see quite often do you? I am very sorry, but I haven’t seen it…
[Grove] If it indeed stranded somewhere here I think the Beachcomber who lives here might have seen it, he searches for strange stuff like this on the shore every day.
[Grove] You’d better ask him if he has seen it, he lives in a house somewhere close by.

If you talk to Grove again:

[Grove] The beachcomber lives in a house close by; I’d suggest asking him for more information.

When you talk to the Beachcomber:
[Beachcomber] How lovely, some visit! I haven’t seen much people lately, I think it’s because nobody is really interested in my hobby and I just keep going on and on about it…
[Beachcomber] I collect strange and special items that wash ashore on this beach. I see what you’re thinking, pretty boring huh? Well I like to have it simple without too much action…
[Beachcomber] You see, every day I find new interesting items, like this particular one, it’s the pride of my whole collection. I found it a few days ago on the shore…
[Beachcomber] Wait, you’re searching for this?!?
[Beachcomber] Hmm… I understand, but I can’t just give the pride of my whole collection to you. You know what! Let’s make a deal; if you can show me you’re a worthy beachcomber you can have it.
[Beachcomber] Bring me [10 washed objects] to prove you’re a good beachcomber.

When you talk to the Beachcomber again:
[Beachcomber] Look, if you can show me you’re a good beachcomber like me I’ll give you this thing. Bring me [10 washed objects].

Washed objects are tripwire hooks which spawn randomly on the shore from Maltic to Nemract, they spawn as an item mob which doesn’t move and has 1HP and doesn’t hit a player. If you kill it, it will drop a tripwire hook named: “Washed object”; a misc. item.

When you talk to the Beachcomber when you have the [10 washed objects]:

[Beachcomber] Finally I’ve met someone who shares the same passion as me, you are very talented. I’m a man of my word so here you go.

[You pick up [Distillery Part 2] -> renamed hopper and untradeable]

    [3] The third part:

Atheena is an anthropologist who researches a tribe which lives in a cave near Bremminglar. She’s standing outside the cave. It’s not necessary to talk to her.

If you talk to Atheena before you started your search for the parts or you don’t have the drawing in your inventory or the quest is already over:

[Atheena] Studying this tribe is not as easy as it looks like, you know… They aren’t as friendly as the used to be anymore…

    If you talk to Atheena:
[Atheena] Greetings adventurer! Is there anything I can help you with, it seems like you’re searching for something…
[Atheena] O yes, I’ve certainly seen this before! I’m a professor in anthropology and I study the tribe of villagers which live in this cave here. It’s a very strange tribe…
[Atheena] They used to be very friendly to foreigners and I was always welcome to join them in their ceremonies, but something corrupted their heart lately…
[Atheena] They found the item on your sketch a few days ago on the shore; they believe it is a relic of their God. I have the feeling that they won’t give it to you without a fight. Good luck!

    If you talk to Atheena:
[Atheena] I don’t know where they keep that thing, but they surely won’t give it to you…

At the end of the cave a villager named “Tribe Priest” lives, he drops the third part if you kill him. Of course the tribe isn’t happy that you try to steal their relic and they’ll be hostile to you.

    Tribe Priest
    Mob: Villager
    Health: 320
    Damage: 12 (MELEE)
    Ability: multihit Tier I
Drop: [Distillery Part 3] -> renamed hopper and untradeable

    Tribe Warrior/Archer
    Mob: Villager
    Health:
    120
    Damage: 14 (MELEE/RANGED)
    Ability: /

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When you talk to Chivas when you have the parts:
[Chivas] Good to see you back! It turned out that my assistant hadn’t noticed some parts were missing and just put the distillery together without them. He is indeed very clumsy, but he has his heart on the right place…
[Chivas] Arran told me you had to search the parts somewhere on the shore, did you find them all?
[Chivas] Thanks a lot; I don’t know how I can thank you enough. The distillery should be functioning perfectly now. Thanks to you my bar will not have to close and Nemract will keep her notorious attraction.
[Chivas] Let us try… Turn this around…. Connect this pipe… then that… Lovely!
[Chivas] Here I have something for you, thanks for all the effort and if you ever want to drink something here again, I’ll be glad to serve you.

When you talk to Arran after you got the parts:
[Arran] I hope the distillery is working again! Thank you for helping him out; Nemract would lose many visitors if he had to close his bar.

When you talk to Chivas after you finished the quest:
[Chivas] You really saved my bar, I will be glad to serve you any day.

    [4000xp]
    [128 emeralds]
[3 Nemract’s Deluxe Whiskey] -> lasts for 4 minutes and gives you Nausea, Strength 2, Blindness, Speed 1

That was it, thank you for reading it :D As you can see it was one giant quest with loads of sub quests. Things I want to improve for my new app:
    • Make a quest that players will get sucked in (emotionally)
    • Don't give some NPC's like a f'ing Novel to say (Chivas his text was way to long)
    • Work with the new Item system
    • Make a very cool/original quest reward
    • Try and find a quest name with alliteration ;p

I think this quest is too good and needs to be tweaked down a little bit so people don't die from all the creativity.
