Art Bits And Drabbles From The Gavellian Board

Hi. As you may already know, I make languages. Occasionally other stuff too. I'm currently knee-deep in the Gavellian family, though when I inevitably dump an big 'ol documentation PDF onto the forum it'll be for High Gavellian specifically.

In the process I've ended up making and writing a bunch of silly things. Here's some of them!

Some Translations
These are in High Gavellian. I thought that they were neat and showed off a bit of the structure and rhythm of the language. Lots and lots of nasals! A whole villager moment.




A Scuffed Meme
This is my depreciated V1 for the Low Gavellian script, though the actual text is written in High. Like the Orcish Ajami, this is actually a custom edit of the High Gavellian script, though it's so custom that it's mostly unrecognizable.

Comparison With Orcish
Uses the "Would you still love me if I was a worm?" line again, because I really liked that one. These two languages are related btw. Distantly, but they are related. One proto-gavellian language went down two dialect paths and it ended up like this.


Word Order Info-Graphic
The idea was taken from a Post that's making its way around the tubes, showing off how different languages order their words compared to English. High Gavellian sentence structure at its highest levels is very head-final, and heavily resembles Japanese, but it becomes more English-like the more you zoom in.

Wow this is cool. What languages have you made so far?

 

I've already made Orcish, and I was a heavy contributor to the Ancient Wynnic project. I didn't have a hand in the ever-brilliant TrapinchO's Dogun, but it's wonderful and everyone should see it.
