Best Class For A New Player?

So i started playing today, and i immediately picked assasin (because i like stealthy gameplay)
Right now im lvl 17, and im not finding assasin that exciting
You break out of stealth when you attack, so its only really for escaping.
You have to dive into a group of enemies to use the spin, which leaves you really vulnerable and for some enemies you have to use it multiple times.
I thaught about switching to archer, but i really hate it doesn't have a pull animation (might get used to it over time though)
Mage seems like to much utility.
Warrior doesn't seem fitting either, but maybe i need to play with it a little first.

So i can't really decide what path to take, what would be a good class for a new player like me, or a good class to start out with based on my preferences.

There is no class which would suit a new player better / worse in my opinion, it just depends on your playstyle!
Also, you should look at the spell-upgrades each class unlocks at higher levels, as it adds an extra-element of gameplay.

Assassin for example, can stun enemies with spin-attack, and gain speed / jump boosts with vanish on higher levels, changing its playstyle from
"run into a group and try to hit everything" to "actually being able to focus single target, and giving you the feel of being a real "ninja""

 

The best would be mage, even with how scrub it is.
One word: HEAL.

Because you literally can't pick Assassin unless you have 60 total levels among your other classes, maybe?

 

Then how did i pick him as my first class? Maybe it was like this when you started playing.

 

It wasn't like this when I started, it was since then implemented and never removed in any patch, as far as the patch notes go.

 

Well they must have changed something, since i played him when i had lvl 0 amongst all classes.

 

What ever suits your play style.

If you prefer long range, and fast, archer is for you

Strong and bulk, the warrior.

And supporting and good with spells, its mage

Honestly once assassin was nerfed, class selection as follows;

Warrior

Good for rushing style
Lots of AOE spells
Does high damage, but not most DPS

Archer

Good for just damage style players
Lots of damage spells
Escape spell give player speed and throws you far
Struggles with health
​

Mage

Most Well rounded
Movement , Heal, AOE, slowing spells
Lower damage, but Meteor, the aoe spell does high % damage
HEAL, less use of health pots​

 

Not everyone puts everything in the patch notes.

 

Yes, they do. Every change is put into the patch notes, apart from minor bug fixes, which are too numerous to do so.

 

Im taking mage for a spin since he seems to have a bit of each, thanks for all the info guys!
What would you recommend using skill points for?
I would think starting with intelligence, since you need to spam spells alot.
