I doubt I need to report it as a bug because it is so common for it to get a little wonky. On a number of quests, I have come near the start of another quest I am qualified for and it will light up the NPC to start it. I often don't realize it at first and only after I right click do I realize I have just started another. then I switch back and don't get my beacon. Sometimes later I can get it, like after a disconnect and reconnect. There have also been a few times where I get instructions to go back to a place next to where I was and no beacon, as if I will always remember where I was. I can look it up in dialog, but getting to a spot by coordinates only is pretty painful.

You can track quests by right clicking on them in the quest book. That will show beacons if the quest stage has any.

That's how it is supposed to work and usually does. My point is that it often does not. Several times I have had the beacon change to show me an NPC to start a new quest when I am already tracking a quest. If I speak to the NPC, it switches to that quest. Then when I switch back, I often do not get the beacon again. Later (new session, maybe) it seems okay again.

oh yeah that happens sometimes like it changes. thats really annoying but you can tell by color and also avoid it by paying attention to npc name and coordinates. start a quest beacons are usually green i think and the other ones are red? or maybe that was just 1.20 cuz i dont pay attention to beacons i use coords

Using coordinates makes me crazy. I do it, but it is a pain. A couple of things I wish they would do - make the map have the more "normal" orientation with north being straight up and adding signs at intersections indicating what town or area a road leads to. I hate to criticize as overall I really like the game a lot, but there are enough roads and crossings with similar terrain that I get lost pretty easily. With the horse it's not so terrible. A lot of times I look for a structure with a door to pop into and let the online map catch up and look at what I need to do (for example, leave here taking a left, cross bridge, bear right). Got burned doing that in the desert, though. Hopped of the horse, ran inside, closed the door and turned around to face a mess of mobs without my sword in my hand. Turns out you can't cast a spell with a horse or potion (I have accidentally done the latter a lot) and by the time I figure out what I did wrong I am doomed.

I think dungeons need to be in there with quests to get a beacon also.

This map will solve all of your problems (If you have Wynntils). Otherwise, if you are fine with not knowing your exact location, it is still a nice top-down map.
Also, at level 40 you will be able to use a pair of boots called Galloping Spurs that allows you to attack and cast spells while on a horse, with a 70% damage penalty. Those boots carried me through the 3 hardest bosses of non-silent expanse Wynn.

I would really like to have wynntils work on my machine. Unfortunately, it crashes within a few minutes. I have tried all sorts of tweaks to settings. MC is rock solid on my machine in multiple versions without mods. I will keep an eye out for those boots. I am sure I would have stashed those had I found a pair. I am glad to know they exist.

Those boots are of a tier of rarity higher than legendary known as fabled. It appears as a red box while unidentified, and after it is identified it has red text. You will probably have the best chances of finding them in level 40+ caves.

40+ caves sounds like a job for Escape and/or Stomp. It will almost certainly be a suicide mission, so I will turn around as soon as I get close to the first wave and Escape in instead of out, hopefully getting to a loot box before I am killed, plus trying to take the closest one or two mobs with me and maybe get a drop. I will have to do a test and see how many Escapes I can do in a row before I run out of mana. I have some refill potions. Fortunately as a boltslinger I had to take cheaper Escape in the tree to get across to Shield. I bet I can get pretty far. At my current level of play, planning to storm or finesse my way in and get out alive just isn't realistic.

There's some pretty shallow caves in the Nesaak, one of which I remember being able to get to the end of using just one movement spell. (This was before 2.0 revamped the Nesaak area, so I don't know if it still exists...).
Also if see random weapons on podiums in certain Nesaak caves, don't worry about them. They are used for a quest.

I am guessing there is nothing like the Almuj wall walkway with a higher level. That's an unguarded candy store for low 30s stuff.

The map shows one right down town, but I couldn't find it (explored some last night). I suspect it is under the frozen fountain and something will break it. But I was looking for a while and did not see any higher level players come by and disappear.

There is one just outside Llevgar that I died in almost immediately when exploring over there, but I tried to engage and then make it back out. Trying to blow by them with Escape will be a different story. It will likely have the same ending, but it will be a different story. Hopefully one that includes a loot box.

The map is pretty outdated, so anything that got changed in 2.0, including the Nesaak area, show up wrong.
Also, that cave you're talking about that is just outside llevigar might be an orc camp, which means it might not have a loot chest. (I don't remember)

the answer to the how far can I Escape question is all the way across Detlas, from the East gate to the West, hitting one obstruction, but I think I still got half the distance on that one. Stomp is roughly the same. A slight delay between each hop would take me much further. Both my bow and my helmet have +4/5s Mana Regen, but my pants have -18/5s Mana Regen and +4/3s mana Steal. The pants are Alternator; legendary drawers that have +31 Main Attack and +18% Spell damage, so I don't want to swap them out.

My kids (actually adults) use some mods, including one that does some mapping. I didn't think about how that could easily work for wynncraft. They are client side and work with Realms. I got that so we can build on the regular world and do game nights with the mini-game swap feature. Good way to remotely spend time together.

Doesn't always work. As I mentioned, sometimes it seems to need exiting the game.
