Archer Or Mage

I have a lvl 56 Mage that is pretty good, but I'm thinking if I should start lvling my lvl 21 archer a bit
The Mage is great don't get me wrong but I've heard many people saying that archer is too OP/ best class

I am a bit stumped on which class to use, so I would like your suggestions,

Mage
Has heal
Fast mobility spell (teleport)
Meteor with added effects (attack spell)
Ice Snake ( slowness spell)

Archer
Does ALOT OF DAMAGE
very good but not fast mobility spell (escape)
Arrow storm can do a lot of damage quickly
Arrow bomb can quickly clear out huge swarms
And arrow shield... I have no idea leave in comments plz.

So yeah vote in that poll above and I have given you very brief info also if you are commenting plz tell me what build with skill points I should use? Thanks!
I understand this will entirely depend on my gameplay style but I'm more of a range dude so I'm leaning towards archer, but I've already got Mage so... XD you choose :)

I'd pick mage since, in my opinion, it is way more fun.

 

Thats when your wrong. Assassin is best with multi hit + invis not my opinion a fact.

I know a lot of people say one class is better than the other, but they're not thinking in terms of time. See, Mage is by far the best at the beginning. The ability to heal and teleport at low levels makes it insanely powerful compared to the other classes at the start. However, as time goes on and you level up more, you'll find that Mage starts to fall behind the other classes, mainly in terms of boss battles.
Warrior has the defense of a brick wall, allowing warriors to last longer in boss battles. Archer has the speed of a bullet, allowing it to kill things incredibly fast. Assassin has the damage of a bulldozer, allowing it to plow through every boss battle solo. Mage on the other hand, has low defense, low attack speed, and low damage.
It takes a tremendous amount of skill to play Mage near the end game. I would recommend leveling up archer along with your Mage, that way if you come across a strong boss that you can't defeat on Mage, you can try it on archer. I'd personally recommend switching off to assassin as soon as you can, because assassin has a lot of key traits that make it insanely powerful if you're using the right build.

And before I start getting hate on by Mage enthusiasts, let me clear up what I said above: Mage is still a viable option for those who want to use it, but you can't deny that it's easier to play other classes. Yes, 'Mage takes skill' as you like to say so much. Of course it does! It's a hard class to master, you need a lot of skill to be able to solo with it. That's why I recommend trying all of the classes first, and then deciding what's right for you. I personally find Mage to be a bit boring and slow, that's why I love assassin. It's fast, it's strong, and the pressure is always on.

 

As a person who has played for more than two years and still doesn't have a single level 75, I can agree to this.

 

I don't really have anything to add to what anyone else has said here, but since no one has addressed it, my two cents on arrow shield is this:

Archer is a pretty squishy class, worst defense and really no good melee options if you get cornered, so arrow shield is kind of a contingency, it doesn't do a whole lot of damage, but it'll certainly repel anything that gets too close to you. If you combine that with a 70agl build, you've got a pretty good chance to not even get hit. Probably sounds kinda OP, but keep in mind that vs. endgame bosses, if you DO get hit, you're usually gonna die in 1 to 2 hits...

 

Take mage, is fun to launch a meteor spell on the center of a group of monsters, and look at them burn in hell's flame... Yea... It's also fun to do it in the center of Detlas... And see players... run... scream... die in pain...

 

Pick mage, mage is a really fun class to play (and you don't have to do parkour anymore) and when Gavel comes out they will fix its defense and fix all the other class stats that aren't at their correct value (warrior defense, assassin defense, mage defense, multi hit damage).

I also was thinking about mage/archer and which one to make my 2nd lvl 75 (it became mage). It was because mage is just tanky compared to archer and also because it is more fun. More stuff to do in boss fights :D.

Mage has 5% more defense than archer, nothing to brag about.

 

I voted mage in the poll because I am mage. But I'll just add to your main post info:

Mage
Pros:
-Spells are actually more spammable, meaning that you can quickly fire (with max intel) up to 11 meteors (my record, don't know if anyone can beat this) before running out of mana.
-Heal spell can not only heal you but you can heal your friends too! And, of course, get rid of those pesky status effects some mobs give you (and fire).
-Teleport spell, while it can't get you to high places/camping spots as easily, does have one advantage over escape: you can go horizontally. You pass over, lets say, a gap where the roof of the cave is too low for escape.
-Meteor leaves an aftereffect, which means that damage and knockback is done to nearby enemies up to 2 times. Is this useful? Yes, if a meteor spam is done your enemy won't be able to get near you.
-Ice snake, at higher levels, can be unavoidable, stopping entire armies in their tracks
Cons:
-Spammable spells is hard to get used to, even after a long time using mage.
-Teleport can easily glitch/not be helpful at times
-Meteor aftereffect can actually knock your enemy towards you if you get the spell wrong.
-Weapon damage isn't very good

Archer
Pros:
-Arrow storm is great for mini-bosses and is also helpful for attacking the larger ones. It is unavoidable
-Bomb arrow is great for grinding and doing damage to multiple powerful enemies
-Arrow shield can protect you, which is very useful seeing as archer has the worst defence
-Escape can get you to camping places easily, or give you time to use a healing potion then damaging and knocking back your enemies quite a bit.
-Good weapon damage
Cons:
-The left and right click reversal is quite confusing at first, especially after using mage.
-Arrow storm uses up lots of mana without doing much damage if you mess up when using it.
-Escape can be hard to use in some cases
-Archer has the worst defence of all of the classes

 

Personally I would pick an Archer. Mage is good for team play. Like its healing, and other things. However I should mention that Archer does SO MUCH DAMAGE, and has attacks that due multiple damage combos at once. Not picking on the mage or picking on it, but myself I would pick Archer. I have a lvl 75 mage and I have experienced difficulty in boss fights, but my lvl 56 archer is pretty op, not saying that archer is better. Its just that I would pick archer instead.

 

Mage is better overall, and has more variety and more fun. Plus, remember the pre9/7 thread "Confessions of a Mage Addict"?

 

Who cares? You will do both of them on future! :P
