Anyone Else Notice....

Ok so anyone notice this?

Over the last month+ I've seen so many more threads being Necro'd, then sealed.
The thing is, so many of the threads I've seen this happen to haven't had real reason for it.

(Posting on a thread that hasn't been replied to in 30 days or more for no legitimate reason.)

The Forum rules say a Necro post only breaks rules if it has no importance to the thread topic (Like information being given about something, etc.) but yet I've seen so many threads being closed by mods even though the post was legitimate and relevant to the thread....

Why are you going against your own rule?
This just doesn't seem right... I know you don't want to let the Forums get littered with old threads, but that doesn't mean that part of the rule should be ignored...
I'm not saying anyone is necessarily to blame, I just don't understand why this keeps happening, surely one older legitimate thread on a topic is preferable to 10 threads on the same topic?

Also, how is that fair to those thread creators or posters? They believe they are still following the rules by only posting legitimately, so they post, then have the threads closed anyway.

What are we suppose to believe?

Although I agree with the concept, holy crap this is going to be a flame-worthy topic in a few minutes....

 

I hope not, but its actually a question of sorts...
Its not to point any fingers, I just want to understand why this part of the rule seems to be ignored now....

 

If you believe any posts have been unfairly closed, either pm a mod or report the thread asking for it to be reopened.
We will look at the thread again, and decide if it needed to be closed.

I have just sent a message to the other mods reminding them about this rule.

Well, if a thread has been out of the circulation for a month or more, it means the active forumers are either no longer interested, or everything that can be said, has been.

So almost any post of any kind can qualify as a necro, since few posts can actually revive a thread,

 

or you can use a defibrillator

Mostly I'm confused about this...
If the post contained information (or a suggestion to make the creators suggestion work better if its in the General Suggestions) but its closed anyway, then what else could count as a Legitimate post?

Its true that can be the case, but it can also be other factors too.

- The thread could have last been bumped at a slow time so not many people saw it.
- Some forum users haven't been here very long so many who could have been active on the topic just weren't here when it was made.
- In some cases the thread could be about a feature/thing that was recently updated, and is out of date.

Its not to say anyone is at fault, its mostly because of the steady increase of threads I've seen this happen to lately...
Its just making me a little concerned about the whole situation since some people may get upset....
