Another Classic Video Game Series Dies...

What’s next, Uncharted and the Witcher? I don’t understand how a fan could make something so flawed and yet charge $25 for it...

To give you a sense of how bad this game is, here are some reviews:

I don't recommend this game. But I do so for different reasons from the rest of the people.
I could have forgiven bad optimization.
I could have forgiven "stolen" assets.
I could have forgiven bugs.
I could have forgiven poor level design and the lack of new content (enemies specifically).
I could have forgiven the fact that "final" game looks worse than 2016 concept demo (!!!!)
I could have even forgiven major plot holes and its overall inconsistency

But there's one thing I JUST CAN'T FORGIVE OR IGNORE.
THERE'S NO ACTUAL GORDON FREEMAN IN IT!!!!!!!!
WOW!!! Even the concept demo had him!!! There's no point in this game now!!! I F***ING WANTED TO HUNT HIM DOWN!!!
He isn't just absent, like you fail to get him. It wasn't him all along!! ZE FREEMAAAAHN wasn't DA one who ♥♥♥♥ED UP Mitchell's face! And this is a MAJOR let down for me!!
On the other side, there's one particular thing that I disliked especially:
Main character isn't edgy and crybaby enough!
I WANTED TO PLAY AS AN EDGY CRYBABY AND HUNT DA FREEMUHN DOWN FOR GOOD!
AND WITH THIS NEW VERSION THE STORY IS RUINED!!!!!!
Play the concept demo instead! It has Freeman (even if only in a cutscene), better story, better level design and it's free!”

Wait, seriously? Just because of a "bad fan game" mean a series is dead? I mean, tbh, the Half Life series was already dead, considering the fact that they already showed what was going to happen in Half Life 2 Episode 3/Half Life 3. I don't quite understand what the point is. It's not official, so why should it have an impact on the official games? A lack luster pokemon fan game doesn't cause Ganefreak to go bankrupt, a lack luster addon/map for Gmod doesn't impact the rest of GMod, soooo why let something fan made impact the series?
