An Open Thank You And A Few Questions From A Vet

Hey all, I just wanted to share a little experience I had recently. It has been a fat minute since I've even touched Wynncraft, the last time I played until recently was a few months after corkus came out (good times). I contributed to the community a little by making fanmade covers for songs, but I stopped those in favor of actual music contracts that I've been getting. Anyways, I've greatly enjoyed the most recent update, not just for the content, but because of the awesome friendly faces I've seen around here. I don't think I've seen anything like this in the old days of wynncraft, where you'd get told to fuck off 5 times in a row when looking for servers to grind frozen heights on. Granted there still is some toxicity, but there's a lot less, at least from what I've noticed. I've been struggling with The Eye and have been doing multiple runs with it, still haven't managed to beat it because I haven't quite figured out the new meta and stat changes, but a good fellow named @VovaTheEpic (not sure if he's active at all on here) gave me a hand and although I got my ass handed to me in the boss fight, the fact that he, someone I met literally 5 minutes ago, waited for my laggy ass to get through the parkour honestly made me feel pretty good about how the community might have changed since my hay days here when there was a whole heap of drama and the community was just moslty unwelcoming. I just wanted to write this open letter to let the community know how grateful and proud I am.

Anyways, a few questions mostly regarding the current state of the game:

Whats the best currency grind

Whats the best high-level xp grind

Wtf is up with weapon crafting and is it worth it

Whats the current warrior meta

Whats the best mythic grind

1. Loot Running, playing the game in general
2. Look for dungeon parties, CUR to be exact (Corrupt Undergrowth Ruin).
3. I'm not into weapon crafting and professions but it is worth it but it's a grind.
4. Warrior is probably the most under powered class in the game, spell spam is difficult to use for it but it's ok. Melee tank is the way to go with it. Mythics like Alkatraz and Guardian are its best mythics, Alkatraz for melee and Guardian for pure tank. Legendaries are meh for warrior.
5. Mythic grind is just playing the game and you will eventually find one.

 

Hmm, I suggest trying out Shaman, lowest defense but some great stats, I solo'd CoW and Amadel pretty easily at their respective levels (I'll be doing Bob soon), it's a pretty fun class in terms of spells, not very mobile though, probably the most stationary class when fighting, so don't start thinking of a walkspeed Shaman or something. Spellspam or Poison is great for Shaman though! Poison is often a door that remains closed but this class opens it up for great DPS possibilities!

 

Heya, its nice to have you back. Ive noticed since I joined Wynn ~6 years ago the amazing community and its never ceased to stand out to me from other servers. Wynncraft’s community has always held a special place in my heart.

now, the questions
I personally do lootrunning. It gets consistant Legendaries which can sometimes sell on tge market for some profit, + the chance for Fableds and Mythics.

high lvl XP grind is definitely CUR parties. The XP is insane. Outside of that I suggest grind spots around the Silent Expanse.

Crafting in general might as well be postgame content. Ignore it until youre more comfortable in everything else

Mm, I'm not sure if that's right for me as I prefer tanky playstyles. Are there any other alternatives to warrior?

Is LS still viable?

 

Last I checked Lifesteal is pretty good, But I have been hearing about a lot of changes. The Meta, at least for warrior is very wonky rn

 

1. Lootrunning in SI/MH/SE
2. CUR/CIB Runs. If you can’t do that then my recommendation is the Witness Court. It’s in the southeastern part of the Eyeball Forest and personally my favorite grind spot.
3. You’re able to craft your own weapons with different ingredients in order to make weapons that allow you get different stats from normal items. It’s worth it if you wanna have more build diversity.
4. Warrior isn’t esaxtly one of the best classes right now in comparison to mage and archer but it’s still useful.
5. Lootrunning in MH/SI/SE

 

I've found that grind spot actually gives MORE exp than CUR with totems and DXP.

 

negative tier spell warrior (spell steal with super slow) is probably the best if you want to go LS.

HP regen is a stat that's terrible unless you invest everything into it, and warrior can abuse that.

 

Tanky playstyles aren't exactly a viable meta atm, most playstyles and metas are "avoid taking damage and dish out as much damage as possible", which makes Archer (60% defense) a popular class, unlike Shaman (50% defense), Archer is a very mobile class and is constantly moving, now there is Mage and Assassin. Mage, as you can expect, is usually focused on spells and less on melee, Assassin has very short attack range but has various stealth spells which make tanking on Assassin rather pointless. My first (and only) lvl 100 is a Warrior too, but I don't want it to be my main. I'm currently lvling up Shaman atm (lvl 70!) and thinking of using it as my main as it only makes sense that it has all the good stuff except tankiness which is sort of irrelevant, which makes me feel confident on using it as a main, but the choice is yours!

 

The old traditional rainbow tank/def tank playstyles aren't as relevant, but regen and steal is definitely viable. You could even say the best build right now is rainbow tank The Watched Shaman with just enough damage to get past mob healing.

OKR/greed major id makes Stealing (the stat, not LS or MS) really cool as a sustain option, but traditional steals ft. Atlas for Super Slow are really nice, especially in heavy melee. Heavy melee items are surprisingly tanky compared to tierstack :o

Not rly the meta right now but air warrior is definitely good and underrated. Whether its spell or melee, I can still solo The Eye with no pots with greed.

Totems are risky if you are assassin or any class that isn’t speedy or has crowd control. I have a pretty tank build and have found myself overwhelmed by the amount of mobs that spawn.
But if you’re able to handle it, then yeah that spot is better than CUR
