This is a small teaser for an upcoming fanmade Wynn-related project set in the far future of the ingame timeline. I'll release more details on what it's going to be eventually, but if you happen to be in the Realm of uz guild, you may have an idea. Without further ado, here it is.
It’s a page seemingly ripped out of a newspaper. It seems to have been published three weeks ago.

Imperialistic Corkian Practices Continue! Zhightland Annexed!

(Continued from page 2) …The Corkian encroachment efforts are a menace to public security, and as of right now, they may still continue without Union interference. “D*mn botmakers!” says Willem Zhight, the owner of the Zhightland theme park and resort. Only two weeks ago, Corkian “envoys” arrived at the park to, supposedly, check on the resort’s security measures. To Zhight’s dismay, they’ve stayed there ever since. “They think they can just take private property for their own?” Zhight said in an interview with a reporter. “I saw one of them today, attaching some sort of metal pole to the entrance gate. I tried to tell 'im to stop, but they just paid me no mind and kept doing it. When I told them that this was private property, he laughed in my face. They’ve scared off all our guests!”
As of right now, the breakaway province has unfoundedly annexed both the island of Zhightland and the neighboring Volcanic Isles. “What might be next?” says Jeon Mattis, a resident of Selchar. “Redbeard’s Atoll? Selchar itself? We have to act, and we have to act now! In just a day’s time, Corkus might move for the Wynnic mainland.”
Unfortunately, we’ll have to see for ourselves whether the Union will finally put a stop to the Corkian madness at tomorrow's Defense Convention. Listen to our station at web.DT.UN to receive live news coverage on the upcoming debates.

    The New Hero, Edition 12

Join Hera, great-granddaughter of Siegfried himself, as she faces off against the evil Corkian villain Dr. Mechanion, and uncovers the secrets of the Grandmother; a relic from the Ancient Times and the oldest bow in history!

You may remember, dear readers, when I journeyed to the city of Kandon-Beda to uncover the hidden secrets of the Temple of the Colossus. There, I met the Dogun shaman Varag, who showed me the way into the temple’s depths. But unbeknownst to us, Dr Mechanion was waiting for us all along, poised to steal my Ancient Key and take the Grandmother for his nefarious plans!

“Well, well, well,” Mechanion mused, twiddling his thumbs evilly. “Look who it is.”

Even despite my shock, I knew I couldn't back down now. The fate of Gavel depended on what I would do next.
“Leave now and denounce your villainous ways,” I said resolutely, staring at him coldly. “I have the key and I will toss it into the Void if that’s what it takes.”

“You underestimate me,” Mechanion gloated. “I have you pinned down under my thumb, Hera. There are twenty armored blast mechs outside waiting for you, each carrying a pair of automatic rifles. They were disguised as the very boulders you passed by when coming here.”

I tried to appear strong, holding myself together. But when one stares in the face of death itself, their composure breaks eventually. I tensed myself, studying the scenery. The only entrance to the temple was the gate, and if I tried to escape, it would mean certain death. Beneath the narrow bridge of stone I stood on, there was only Void, a cold, empty, and infinite abyss.

“You’re scared, I know it,” the Doctor continued. “So why don’t you hand that key over before I turn my robots on you! I’ll give you five seconds to decide. Five. Four. Three…”

In a sudden blur of motion, I jumped past him and leapt into the Void below, the key in my hand. The last thing I saw as I plummeted downwards was the distant shape of Mechanion, his expression utterly dumbfounded.

Little did he know that was what I had wanted all along.

    Continued on next week’s paper!

That ending was actually the most generic plot twist I can think of, as the story was supposed to be a purposefully bad piece of pulp fiction laced with anti-Corkian propaganda (similar to what the US did in the Cold War.) In fact, most of the newspaper itself is just commercialized propaganda in some form or another.

It is with great disappointment that I write to you about your paper’s acceptance of Stryke CO’s latest advertisement. As I have told the gentlemen at the corporation countless times before, defense builders are not “lying cheats” and “crooks looking to swindle you out of your emeralds.” In fact, defense building has always been an important element in urban adventuring, with builders, according to many sources, being hired by the Hero of Realms themselves.

If anyone is what the corporation claims us to be, in fact, it is themselves. Their latest Morph-Neo power suit, which they claim to be “a revolution in the defense industry,” is known to be much less effective practically than any half-decent build. By accepting Stryke’s sponsorship, you are allowing evidently false information in public media! Please remove the advertisement at once.

    Grudgingly yours,
Mardek Nius, head of the United Zalborne Building Association.

United Zalbourne Building Association would have stood for UZB if I had figured out a way to incorporate it in as well.
And speaking of that, who knows?

A loud beep pierces the silence.

    Caller: Hello?

    Caller: Can you hear me?

    Caller: ....

Caller: Does this thing even work properly? Don't tell me I paid ten liquid emeralds for a dysfunctional..phone. Or whatever this is called.

Caller: Huh. It allows you to record your message as well? Guess I can do that.

Caller: Can you delete or crop this thing? Let me…

Caller: I guess it doesn’t matter, does it? If you’re listening to this right now, please don’t mind that.

Caller: In case you haven’t read my last three letters, well.. hi. I’m Dina Varance, a fan of the paper from Thesead. I’m a lawyer- I specialize in labor law; the firm I work at is in the city’s industrial district.

Caller: But I’m not here to talk about my job. I’m here to speak of something that happened recently. Something that your paper might find interesting.

Caller: You see, one of my former clients worked as a coal miner near Kandon. They were getting ready for their night shift when a sudden explosion rocketed the mine. It turns out that a meteor, roughly the size of a small car, suddenly struck the mine’s entrance, causing a cave-in.

    The caller inhales sharply.

Caller: I swear I’m not making the next part up. You have to believe it, trust me. I have proof, if that’s what you need.

Caller: When my client and their colleagues, three in total, decided to investigate the crash site, they found something.. otherworldly.

Caller: The meteor-well, wasn’t any normal one. I’ve seen samples of those in museums before; and this was far from it.

The inside of the meteor-well it held a large crystal…shell. It was neon violet, glowing and many-faceted, almost like a perfectly cut diamond. I don’t know what it was-but one thing was evident. It was too, far too perfect to be natural.

Caller: When they finally returned to the meteor after calling for help, it was gone-the shell, the crust, vanished like it had never been there in the first place. Not a single trace remained-apart from one tiny shard-still glowing faintly with light.

Caller: When the authorities came, they found nothing. The cave-in was blamed on the miners and they were sentenced to thirty years in jail. As a final plea to justice, they found me.

Caller: I have the shard with me. You have to believe this. If I have one of those image recorders- cameras, they’re called, I would show you right now.

A loud, sudden, thump echoes in the distance.

    Caller: What..what was that?

Caller: I’m telling you, please hear me out. You’ve got to..

Another thump, this time even louder, echoes in the distance.

Caller: I..have to go now. You have to tell them what I said. Please. This..what I’m telling you here is beyond important. You have to get this published.

A loud crash resounds suddenly as you hear metal screech and wood crack. Everything fades to crackling static.
