A Sandy Scandal Bandit Leader Fight

Just wondering how people are able to stay on the pressure plate/pad long enough to diffuse the TNT. I've tried like 10 times now and I keep getting pushed off or teleported to the boss even after killing all the adds then teleporting to the TNT, I can't stay long enough.

 

Stand at the pressure plate and try not to die (thats what i do).

 

Here's a few tips:
1. Get strong gear to withstand any potential hits, and to take care of the minions.
2. When you see a TNT spawn (and hear the TNT smashing audio que), lure the enemy to the other side of the room, and use your mobility spell to rush to the pressure plate. Don't bother attacking during this, since it'll only cost you time.
3. It's even possible to do without attacking or getting hit if you perform #2 well enough
