Hey yall, So I think that Ragnar, a character who does exist yet has not been used in Wynncraft at all yet deserves his own quest. So I made one, or at least wrote one for him. And yes this quest is in the levels 90 - 100 range because I feel that level range needs more quests. So I hope y'all enjoy it.

    A New Hero

    Level 95

    Stage 1: Find out what's going on at 51, 65, - 1691

    Nemract Citizen: HEEEEEEEELP!

Whose scream was that? You should . . .

Wait, an explosion? You’d better check it out to see if everything is alright.

Stage 2: Follow the trail and see if you can still save whoever screamed for help.

Nemract Citizen: Thank you so much, I thought I was going to die out here.

???: Oh don’t thank me, I should be thanking you. Your scream let me to this creature, though it looks more corrupted than usual, in fact it doesn’t even have those red spikes most corrupted have, hmm, maybe I should . . .

???: OH, yeesh, you scared me, Soldier. You heard the scream too didn’t you? Ah yes, well I’m glad I’m not the, wait. Aren’t you that Soldier that’s been traveling across the world? The one who’s been to Corkus even?

???: Well, I’m glad to finally meet you, <playername> it’s.. . . OH, right, are you alright?

Nemract Citizen: Yes I’m alright, thank you so much for the save Ragnar.

Ragnar: I’m just glad this thing didn’t do any damage to you. You should head to Detlas now, the army keeps the suburbs safe enough for you to travel alone.

Ragnar: Now, <playername> as I was saying, it’s great to finally meet you, I’m surprised you’d be here of all places. I’ve actually been looking to see how you fight, how about we have a friendly duel, in the Center of Detlas?

Ragnar: I understand this may be a bit amusing for you, but I’m genuinely interested in how you fight. You’ve Ended the Molten Heights War, utterly destroyed Corkus’ Factory, and so much more. Don’t worry about injuring anyone or getting in trouble, I’ll arange the whole thing. So what do you say?

    [A] Sure

Ragnar: Great! I’ll meet you in the center of Detlas tomorrow, for now, rest up and prepare yourself, for this may be your toughest fight yet.

I don’t know, it seems like we may accidentally destroy some important property.

Ragnar: Oh don’t worry about that, I can make sure that doesn’t happen.

[C] Fine, but only because you said it would be safe.

Ragnar: Ah, I should have known you would react like that, well, I guess just meet me in the center of Detlas tomorrow. I didn’t think you’d be so unenthusiastic about it though.

[D] No, absolutely not, I am not risking any lives, besides I have other duties to attend to, I’m sorry.

Oh please, don’t worry about risking lives, I’ll make sure nobody gets hurt, I promise.

    If you picked option D

[A] Oh Alright, I’ll duel you

Ragnar: Great! Meet me in the center of Detlas tomorrow, and try to put some effort into the fight please.

Stage 2: It’s tomorrow now, head to the Center of Detlas and begin your duel with Ragnar.

Ragnar: Ah <playername>, you’re here, it’s good to see you! Shall we begin now?

    [A] Sure

Ragnar: Alright, Let’s see how you handle yourself against me.

I need more time to prepare.

Ragnar: Alright, no rush, just meet me back here once you're ready.

Stage 3: Defeat Ragnar in combat.

The Boss would have 4 Phases, In each Phase he gains more health and a new spell.

In Phase one, Ragnar has a Bash spell, and has 400,000 health, He also has a huge amount of main attack damage.

In Phase two, Ragnar loses his Main attack and has 600,000 health, He gains a Charge spell and can now charge around the boss arena.

In Phase three, Ragnar has 700,000 Health, and gains an uppercut spell.

In Phase Four, Ragnar not only has 800,000 Health, but he also regains his main attack damage and now gains a war scream spell.

    Dialogue for the boss.

Ragnar: Heh, You fight well, but I doubt you can defeat The True Hero of this province.

    Phase two.

Ragnar: Damn it, you really did it that easily, I guess I’ll have to pick up the pace.

Ragnar: How's this for a CHARGE.

    Phase three.

Ragnar: Ok now I’m genuinely confused, well it doesn’t matter, I’ll really defeat you this time.

Ragnar: How about I CUT THROUGH YOU.

    Phase four.

Ragnar: You fight well Soldier, but you’re still outmatched, I just need to use an extra weapon. Now, FACE ME.

    Ragnar: Come and FIGHT ME.

After you Defeat Ragnar, or lose to him.

    Stage 3: Talk to Ragnar

    If you won the fight.

Ragnar: Well, I’m surprised you won <playername>. Don’t worry I’m not going to attack you for winning.

Ragnar: I guess my ego got the better of me. Maybe I should have come towards you sooner.

Ragnar: I need your help with something, it’s a big job, but you’ve proven you can do it.

Ragnar: There’s something that’s been attacking people all throughout the province, it’s simply known as the lost guard.

Ragnar: It’s been attacking farmers near Ragni, as well as Elkurn. We don’t know its origins. But some say it came from the Corruption portal near Detlas.

Ragnar: If you could help me with this I would be ever so grateful, I’m sure I could gather up some sort of reward for you.

Ragnar: You’ll help? Great! Thank you so much Soldier, I’ll meet you at Elkurn. Meet me at the tower where that Doctor lives, you know, the Doctor who’s been bringing back memories of Frumans recently, they apparently Rebuilt their orb which they accidentally destroyed.

    If you lose the fight.

Ragnar: Oh well, you fought valiantly, I have to commend you <playername>, you truly fought amazingly.

Ragnar: I know my ego gets the best of me sometimes, but I have to say I’m glad you don’t seem to have an ego like I do.

Ragnar: Now, I know this may be a lot to take in but. . .

Ragnar: I need your help with something, it’s a big job, but you’ve proven you can do it.

Stage 4: Head to Elkurn and meet Ragnar at 28, 66, -1247

Ragnar: And so, we need to know if you’ve seen a creature of that description recently.

Scout Reynauld: Yes, I have seen a creature like that, it just came here and attacked a few minutes ago. Huh, <playername>, I’m surprised to see you here, working with Ragnar I assume?

Ragnar: Yes, they are. Wait, you said that creature attacked WHEN?

Scour Reynauld: A few minutes ago, it went in the direction of the pigman ravines. Are you trying to track it down?

Ragnar: Yes we are, Thank you for your help, let's go <playername> we don’t want that thing attacking Ragni, or Troms even.

Stage 5: Follow Ragnar to the Pigman Ravines

Ragnar will open a portal to a certain place, go through and you will then both walk there together.

Ragnar: So, I bet you probably want a better description of that thing. Well it’s got armor on, the armor of a Ragni Soldier like yourself in fact.

Ragnar: We believe it came from the Corruption Portal a few weeks ago, though we don’t know for sure.

Ragnar: What we do know is that it’s extremely cowardly, it will run away at even the slightest mark.

Ragnar: Except a powerful one, the creature seems to be more willing to fight the harder the mark is. I know that because I fought it myself once.

Ragnar: You should be able to take it down though. I’ll make sure you have all the help you need in this fight. Heck, you may even become the new Bob after this.

Ragnar: Wait, you don’t want to be like Bob. You just want to be, yourself? I have to say, that's quite the sentimental statement from someone like you. You truly are Wynn’s true protector.

Ragnar: Ah, we're here, well I guess we had better head into the Ravines then.

Stage 6: Follow Ragnar deeper into the Ravines and see if you can track down that creature.

Ragnar: Ok, this creature will try to run away if we aren’t careful about it, keep your wits about it.

The Lost Soldier shows up and runs away.

Ragnar: That’s the Lost Soldier, AFTER IT.

You and Ragnar will chase the Lost Soldier back into Ragni, a boss fight will then trigger.

Stage 7: Defeat the Lost Soldier.

This second boss fight is not as difficult as Ragnar’s is, the Lost Soldier has a few spells but you should stay as far away as possible from its main attack.

The boss has two phases, phase two is more powerful than phase one of course.

Ragnar will also help you in this boss fight, doing 10% of the damage you can do, a tank build is not recommended for this fight.

After you defeat the Lost Soldier

Ragnar: We . . . We did it. Great job <playername>, I have to say you really . . .

???: Don’t celebrate yet heroes, you may have taken down my peon. But you weaklings will fall before my feet.

Ragnar: Eugghhhh, what is that thing?

Bak’al: Aren’t you the one who just watched as I fought that Light Beast’s Peon. I’m surprise you survived that, but that doesn’t mean you will beat me so easily.

Ragni Soldiers: IT’S BAK’AL, KILL HIM WHILE HE'S VULNERABLE

The Ragni Soldiers and yourself will run towards Bak’al, he then will cast a spell knocking the soldiers into the sky like how he did with Admiral Aegis in AHC.

Ragnar: Ah so you’re the one who Bob himself fought all those years ago, here to pay your respects to him?

Bak’al: HAH, Don’t make me laugh. Did you even notice how I obliterated those Ragni Soldiers. This is my chance to prove to my Master that I am still worthy of serving him.

Ragnar: Well then I will make this your last chance for sure. <playername>, let’s finish this.

A cutscene will play where Ragnar and Bak’al fight, casting a ton of spells, there are points where you will have to attack Bak’al as well but those are extremely short. Your main job here is to kill all of Bak’al’s peons that he summons. It's less of a cutscene and more of a glorified boss fight. Ragnar will knock Bak’al out of Ragni.

Bak’al: So, this is how you win, by knocking me out of the city instead of facing me. What a coward you are.

Bak’al will then charge at Ragnar, and Ragnar will then summon a barrier and once Bak’al hits it, a Massive explosion will occur and Bak’al will be knocked out of Ragni again.

Bak’al; Oh forget it, RETREAT PEONS.

Bak’al will then summon a portal to the realm of dern, and he will go into it. Ragnar kills the last of his peons and then stage 8 will commence.

Stage 8: Talk to Ragnar again.

Ragnar: That was Bak’al, he is the leader of the corrupted armies. Oh wait, you already know who he is? Well, I probably should have assumed that already. Anyways, we had better . . .

The Ragni Soldiers will then fall from the sky, Ragnar will catch them with another spell, and they are somehow still alive.

Ragni Soldier: What happened down here? Is everyone alright?

Ragnar: Yes everything is fine soldiers. I’m glad you’re all still alive as well. You had all better get some rest, today was probably one of the most difficult days of your lives.

Ragni Soldier: Alright, thank you for the save, what was your name again?

Ragnar: Ragnar, it’s Ragnar, remember it, for I am the hero of this province.

Ragni Soldier: Ah yes we know you, thank you for your service today Ragnar, we’ll make sure you’re rewarded for this.

Ragnar: Oh no don’t reward me, if it weren’t for this Soldier’s help, i don’t think I would have even been here to defend the city from Bak’al in the first place. Reward them instead of me.

Ragnar: I wish you luck in your future endeavors <playername>.

Ragnar will then walk out of the city and you will then have to talk to the Ragni Soldiers.

Stage 9: Talk to the Ragni Soldiers.

Ragni Soldier: I guess we’ll have to reward you then Soldier, good job. Here's some payment for your work today.

Ragni Soldier: I don’t know what will happen next but if every soldier was as strong as you are right now, we may actually win this war. Keep fighting the good fight, Soldier.

    Quest completed: A New Hero

Hey yall, so this probably isn’t very well written, but it's definitely something I’ve wanted to do ever since I heard about Ragnar from the Gavel Expansion trailer, and some NPC’s in Detlas and Nemract. I hope you all liked it and who knows, maybe I’ll rewrite this someday if I feel like I need to so it can be even better. See yall next time. And I just noticed I made a mistake, most of it is in bold, my bad.
