Hiya everyone! So earlier, like a day ago I think, I posted Chapter 1 of A Journey Beyond in a story form. I got a 100% positive feedback and request for Chapter 2 (note: there was 1 person), so now here we go! Here's Chapter 1 if you want to read it (recommended): https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/a-journey-beyond-the-story-ch1.277805/

    A Journey Beyond:
    Chapter 2:

Elphaba looked up at the arch. “This is our second time here, Thing500. Tha first wasn’t so nice…” Aledar cleared his throat. “Well, there’s 4 of us now, so we should be able to-” Lucio interrupted him. “Move aside ladies, the monster can’t be that bad.” He strutted up to the collapsed boulders and spread his arms. Elphaba rolled her eyes and joined him. Aledar stalled for a second. I felt a change in the air, like when the corruption leaks into the ground and infects the mind. A sort of buzz in the mind, and wisp of hot air… this was different, almost more powerful, like a roar instead of a buzz and a gust of cold air. “Lucio, wait...”

He ignored me and muttered some runic spell. Suddenly, an explosion, lights, yelling, rubble, Lucio’s spell had blasted the stones to dust and pebbles. “Lucio, you IDIOT!” yelled Aledar. He was pretty scary when he was mad, and Lucio backed away. “Uhh, um…” Aledar’s eyes almost glowed with rage. “YOU RELEASED THE MONSTER, THE BEAST CONTAINED WITHIN!!” A rasping roar echoed out of the dust. A shadow, blacker than black rose from the darkness. “Kill it!” yelled Elphaba. Aledar raised his arms and yelled something in Ancient Wynnic as Lucio and Elphaba charged the thing. I unsheathed my dagger and cast my Vanish spell, flying over the Black Geist and landing behind it. Spin Attack, stunning it, Smoke Bomb, heavy damage, Multihit to stack it up. The beast turned, unscathed. Its eyes were like points of death, little white specks and the only color other than black and grey on it. It loomed over me, more annoyed and angry than hurt. “Thing500!” cried Lucio. It screamed and cast a multihit spell, picked me up and threw me against the wall.

Hurt and confused, I staggered to my feet and threw my dagger in desperation. It flew through the air like lightning, hitting the Black geist… and bouncing off like rubber. The weapon clattered to the floor. “Why aren’t our attacks doing ANYTHING?!” yelled Lucio in frustration, casting spell after spell with no avail. Elphaba jumped onto the back of the monster, distracting it for long enough for me to scamper out of the way of death and get behind it. I picked up my dagger and slid it into my sheath. Elphaba was thrown, landing to my right, using another Wynnic spell to cushion her impact. She jumped back onto her feet and ran forward again, but not in time. Lucio was hit by the Black Geist, slamming into the wall so hard, it collapsed onto him. “Lucio!” yelled Elphaba. She yelled another runic spell, I think she said “Uncover,” or something…? Anyways, the rocks shifted quickly out of the way and revealed a battered Lucio. He groaned “Are you ok?” asked Elphaba frantically. He looked down at his body. “Aww, man. It scratched my armor!” Elphaba rolled her eyes again and pulled him to his feet. “Come on, we need to figure out how to kill this thing. We can’t hurt it, so we must capture it again. Aledar, you know what to do.” He nodded silently and braced himself against a crate.

“Lucio, help Elphaba hold the Black Geist down for long enough for me and Thing500 to seal it back in!” he shouted. Lucio grimaced and nodded. He joined Elphaba and dove at the beast. It shrieked and writhed on the floor, but it couldn’t rise. “Thing500, when I stomp my foot, cast any spell, ok?” he called over the noise. I nodded and unclasped my knife. He began chanting, and the very air began to hum with raw power and destruction. I caught a few words he was saying, stuff like “bring down,” and “collapse.” Jeez, wonder what his spell will do. His right foot stomped, I could almost see the ground ripple from the spell’s built-up potential. I concentrated and a cloud of clicking and snapping smoke swirled to life around me. The Spin Attack spell slammed into the columns supporting the arch, cracking and smashing them. Aledar finished his spell and a huge flaming fist appeared above the already compromised structure. “Lucio, Elphaba, RUN!!” he yelled. They jumped up and dove forward. The magic fist came down upon the stone, buckling it like toothpicks. The Black Geist tried to get up. It screamed with rage and shock as a million pounds of stone and emerald came crashing down on it. Dust billowed up around us and debris rained like hail.

After a few seconds, the cloud dispersed and we gathered together. Elphaba looked around and narrowed her eyes. “Where’s Lucio?” she said. We straightened and looked around. “LUCIO!” we called out. “Over here!” called a faint voice. Elphaba cast her “Uncover” spell, once again, revealing a battered yet unfazed Lucio buried under a pile of stones. “Hello friends!” I smirked and pulled him up. He jumped up and muttered something in Wynnic. He traced his finger over his chestplate, which bent itself back into form, smoothing out dents and mending scratches. “Hey, no fair!” I joked. “Boys, c’mon, we need to find a way to kill this creature. Our attacks did no damage, and it almost killed everyone except for Aledar!” said Elphaba. Aledar scrunched his eyebrows. “I think I know a guy… a blacksmith on the Black Road. He knows about Darkness Magic and other obscure arts, he could help us!” Lucio concluded with a simple “It’s worth a shot, let's go!”

We all had Ternaves horses, meaning we could magically store them in a special saddle and summon them at will. The journey was short, straight north, 2 minutes at most. We didn’t talk but that was fine by me. We reached a small miner town, one of several set up along the Black Road. It was small, a tool merchant and a few crafting stations for jewelry and weapons. A farm in the corner and a few small sheds. A man stood in the center of the village. He looked up when we approached. We dismounted and magically stowed our horses away. The man looked at us and focused on Aledar. “Oi, old friend! Welcome back, come for a visit?” He seemed friendly enough at first glance. Aledar emotionlessly grinned and shook his head. “No Dren, we are on a top secret exploration mission, and we need your help killing a beast.” Dren slowly nodded. “Yes, yes… follow me into my shop.” He turned and walked into a building behind him. We glanced at each other and nodded.

Upon following him, we found him standing in an empty room, awaiting our arrival. “So, what is your situation?” Aledar leaned back onto a wall. “We need to defeat a creature of darkness, do you know how we would do that?” Dren nodded his head and walked over to us. He wordlessly looked us up and down one by one before returning to his original location. “Your problem is elemental. You all know the 5 basic elements right? Earth, fire, air, water, and thunder, right?” As he listed them. Their respective symbols appeared before us using their respective elements to shape them. The air converged into a small dust devil, taking the form of the Air symbol. Moisture was sucked from the room, showing off the Water symbol. The fire symbol blazed to life before us, etcetera. One they had all appeared, Dren continued. “Well, almost all of them... There is a hidden one. Darkness.” The space we were in turned cold and dangerous. A new symbol appeared, fashioned from pure black.

It buzzed with power and mystery. Purple smoke coiled off the sign, leaving tracks blacker than the Sky Island’s void. “In order to kill or even attack a creature of Darkness, you must first remove all of its influence from your soul. Beasts like the one you’re referring to use something like a spiritual barrier to stop incoming attacks from other creatures of that element.”

Lucio clapped his hands. “Alrighty, how do we get rid of it then, hmm?” Dren raised his eyebrows at him. “Well, with an object of Darkness and an object of Light, obviously.” Lucio tilted his head to one side. “Whaa..?” Dren rolled his eyes and sighed. “The object of Darkness draws the element out. The object of light purifies you. Simple!” Lucio nodded. “Ahh, yes of course.” Dren ignored him and continued. “The object of Darkness is easy to get, well, sort of… There’s an escaped Dernic beast in the Roots. The Light item is farther, but easier to attain. Any light creature has it, just ask some Gavel fairies or something for some Light dust.” Elphaba nodded, satisfied. “Lucio, you’re comin’ with me for some Gavel Light powder. Aledar, go with Thing500 to get a nice platter of Dern guts for us, ‘ight? Good, let's go.” I looked over at Aledar. He grinned at me, but it didn’t seem right, like he was dreading something…

    To be continued...
