A Fresh Start

Hello everyone,

There's no point in hiding it from you, but due to a slight hiccup, we lost all of our threads on the forum.

Yeah.

We're sorry.

Let me try and clear up a few immediate questions. No, you have not lost your accounts but you may see some differences in your likes and message count, however your profile should be intact. Mainly just the threads are gone.

This, in my eyes, although unfortunate is a great opportunity for a forum-wide clean up and a fresh start for us, especially as we are on the cusp of Gavel release, which is due, if you don't know this fall. There were plenty of threads which were, let's be honest - not great.

The mods have kindly already started to repopulate the forums with threads, but I implore each and everyone of you to get back involved with the community and help rebuild our conversations and together we can make a new, improved forums, perfect for all the new and returning players for Gavel!

I beg for your understanding in this unfortunate event, and sincerely apologise for what has happened. If there was anything I could do about it, trust me I would.

Hey! I'm going to do a quick FAQ:

WHAT HAPPENED?
-Stuff. Don't worry, everything's fine.

Why do my likes/messages look different?
-A few threads that were deleted got rid of your messages/likes. It shouldn't be too bad.

What can I do?
-Be yourself! Repopulate threads, help people, generally be nice. We've remade the big ones for you guys already.

Any backups?
-The newest one we have is months old. This new start is actually better than a rollback!

Changes?
-We're going to improve shoutbox moderation, get rid of generally useless threads, and try and be with the communtity more. Get hype!

SOME THREADS AREN'T POSTED BY THE SAME PEOPLE THAT ORIGINALLY POSTED THEM!!!!
-We know. It's honestly better that we posted than not posted. Some are even different than what they originally were. We need you guys to help.

 

Oh well, the forums needed to be cleaned up a bit anyways. So are all of the news and gavel teasers threads gone too?

 

Question: why's this not locked

We encourage discussion about this! It is best to keep the thread open and not locked, because obviously those who may still be confused may want a place to talk about it in an organized fashion. No worries! Thank you for pointing this out though.

 

Well, this is nice. There were a lot of useless threads floating around, at least now (even though it was a mistake) everything will be much nicer :)
