Community Event Spell-less Archer Challenge

Hello world!

So, a while ago, @Xavi posted a video on getting to level 11 without casting a spell on Mage to test to see if other spells besides the first one get rid of the "You haven't cast a spell" message, and it got me thinking...

What if you tried to play through all of Wynn to level 100/101 without casting a spell?​

Or, even worse:

What if you tried to play through all of Wynn to level 100/101 without casting a spell and playing the class that is only able to hit one enemy at a time?​

And thus came the idea, spell-less Archer. Sounds pretty torturous, right? Yeah, it is.

So, the first obvious dilemma is that you may accidentally hit the left click. However, there is a solution for this. If you go into controls, select the "Attack/Destroy" option, and then press the Escape key, you set the left click option to "None", which makes it completely unusable. (Credits to @Greeni for that tip.) However, right clicking fences, gates, and doors still count as left clicks. I have lost all besides one of my previous tests of this concept to this, so be warned. I lost one class to the Dungeon Update, somehow, so I guess major updates wipe the spell counter for every class? I don't know.

That aside, I do use my bank for stuff like getting a horse early, but you can choose not to use the bank for an extra challenge if you please. And I really can't stop you from playing this class with friends, it will probably end up helping you out in late game.

I'm not exactly sure what to do about a leaderboard or if it's really necessary. I've gotten one up to level 34 and 70% XP and my current one just accidentally hit a fence gate and cast a spell at level 34 and 0%. I made that question the poll of this thread so I guess you can answer that if you want. And even post your own in the comments if you want. If you do though, all I ask is a screenshot. Don't photoshop it, please. And don't like play spell-less, then switch to another high-level archer and scroll up in chat. That's just cheap.

The screenshot must have the XP bar and the chat message saying that "You haven't cast a spell yet" or the dreaded "You cast a spell!" message. And maybe a screenshot of the compass too hovering over the stats part so that the exact percentage of XP can be recorded. Obviously, video evidence would be hard to do, so that's why I'm not requiring it.

im pretty sure the dungeons update removed the spell counter, thats what ive heard at least

 

maybe ill reset a class to try this
since grinding as a melee archer at high levels is pretty much suicide are you allowed to use dungeons for xp

Haha, I remember the day you failed your challenge, but still, if you want to attempt it again, please do so, it'd be really cool to reach 100!

Yup. In fact, it’s probably the most efficient if you have like a group to play with.

at level 99
biggest issue is gaining the xp to get to even to that point and by then you can use painmaker thats a hundred times more practical

 

you do make a good point... but the burst damage is satisfying :D

 

I'm going to try this. I'll probably screw up somewhere around level 9 or level 53, here goes nothing!

Honestly, the biggest challenge will be not going insane from seeing that "you can cast a spell..." message in chat.

Welp. Level 34 and 0%. My old one with 70% is lost and I can't find the screenshot of it, so I'll just leave this as the record to beat for now.

If you're wondering how I killed it, I sure love fence gates. :/

 

don't hold a bow while in a town doing quests. Only in combat, since that's the only time you'll need to do damage anyways.

 

I know. I was in combat. I just rode my horse back to Nemract to take the screenshot.
