Build 100th Your Work Thread: The Shire

For this 100th thread, I will be showcasing a survival town on a server made by me and those 5 people above.

We started around March or April this year.
After about 2 months, school reopened for most of us and the server and the town was mostly forgotten.
But how did I remember it?
As soon as I joined that server, I knew it was going to be a good one.
To be frank, the community there is AMAZING. Going to say, completely better than ours. They adopt a no-swearing rule, and everyone that joined abided by the rules, and there was absolutely no history of an flame wars. People there greet you with a smile when you log in, and the people there are mature, too. Simply too good.
Oh yes, back to the town itself...



^ This is the whole town. Its called "The Shire". (i know its a bad name, swuggles decided it)
Everything you're going to see in the next crapton of screenshots are all completely hand-made, in survival, with obtained resources.

It started off with me and swuggles clearing out this area of forest beside a small hill. Then gradually he invited more people and after 1 month, we made this place look beautiful.


We were pretty simple. Each of us had houses, a community farm, animal farm and mob grinder. The server had skills plugin so the tall stonebrick tower in the middle was built to accommodate the "Acrobatics" skill.

Then one day, Jeremy and Bopszilla decided to leave The Shire and establish a fortress within the mountains of Mt. Jeremy(I named that, hue).
It was a treacherous walk from TheShire to Mt. Jeremy, being a forest and full of mobs at night, so I decided to do something for the first time ever in survival: Build a minecart track!
(I only did those things in creative, I haven't built one in survival with finite materials)


And holy shit, that thing took like 200 wooden planks, 2500 fences and a crapton of rails.
Nevertheless, it looked absolutely amazing when I completed it 3 days later. I was actually quite proud of my self back then. (now it looks like shit after I became wynn builder)

And of course Jeremy and Bops decided to make a castle behind the mountains, near the ocean. I made a track to there, as well.

Y'know, I'm still proud of this town.
Made in survival with obtained materials.
And the best server I've ever joined. Community, Staff, Content, simply too great.

And why were those builds never completed? Because I didn't have the damn time to build it alone ;-;.

I'd love to go back to the server, but for me it's changed. It just doesn't have the spark it had when we first joined. When I came back after a few weeks in August, our town was dead. And I decided to let it stay dead. But I'm very happy to know that Beef is letting it live on with new people.
