“Ew grinding… Let’s see if I can fix that” -Grian

I remember when he said that in a thread… Ew my art though

I DO NOT UPDATE THIS ANYMORE. WELP SOMETIMES I DO.

Welcome to the Gavel Grinding Guide!
    For all your grinding needs!
At least only for level 80+s!
jk, low levels can still use it.
why bother reading this just go and read the thread pl0x

    Introduction:

So grinding was a big problem in the world of Wynn (it still is.. sometimes), but the whole problem got better than Gavel came out.
At least only for level 40-80s.

However, things get menacing as you enter the realm of mid-level 80s. Not only there are only a few quests to keep you going, but most, I repeat, most of the Canyon of the Lost is lacking swarms of mobs, if not a grinding spot. So I compiled some of the best grinding spots in the game. So without any farther ado, let's start the freaking thread!

Alright, don't expect all-new-shiny NEW spots for high levels, not the ones you heard a ton on the forums.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Tips:

    1. This is probably, if not the most important point in this section:
DO NOT, FOR BOB’S SAKE, GO GRINDING IF YOU HAVE 2 SOUL POINTS OR LESS. You are gambling your whole inventory when you do so. You know how Soul Points work, right?
If you are a beginner, then consult the Wynncraft website. It’ll help.

    2. You are better off killing mobs that’s close to your level rather than killing super OP mobs when you are level 30. You get the point.

“Killing mobs near your level will gain you much more experience than killing mobs below or above your level, by way of a variable XP gain and chances to earn no XP from enemies that aren't your level.” - Wiki

    3. Quests comes first, then grinding. Sure, you might get some good loot from grinding, but quests should be prioritized. Always.

    4. XP bonuses on your gear, finding a good spot where mobs can’t hit you will net you some advantages. Also, try to find Double XP Servers from time to time.

Confident? Then you can open the spoiler below! Good luck and have fun Wynning!

Starred (*) location means I got it from other Wynn players.

Two-starred (**) location means you need to complete a quest to access this area.

Three-starred (***) location means you should be careful while grinding in this area.

Four-starred (****) means nothing. Yeah. Stop reading this.

Also, stars and their colours can be mixed.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Wynn Province:

Level 1-5 - Should be near Ragni
    - You should do quests in this range, but why not give grinding a shot? After all, you won’t like things in later levels…

    Gates of Ragni:

You know it’s RIGHT outside of Ragni, right?

*Angry Pig Cave, sourced by A.w.Hippie

everything would be better if there were cows instead of pigs

    Coords: -793 -1425

    Explore.

If you don’t quite feel like grinding, there’s always exploring! (wow dat rhyme roflmao) Go around and search for new locations, while killing mobs on your away. You will find that you are having much more fun than grinding, but XP earning might be a bit low compared to the typical grinding you do. And when I say explore, EXPLORE the area around where you should be. Yeah. Don’t explore around Ragni when you are level 75.

Level 5-15 - Should be near Ragni / Detlas
    - Quests.

    Nivla Forest:

Not too much XP, I reckon, but they tend to come in swarms. Sometimes. Try not to get lost inside this area.

*Emerald Trail Ruins, sourced by A.w.Hippie

    Coords: -494 -1586

    Explore.

I am not explaining this again.

    Emerald Trail Sewers

Accessible from the Potion Merchant's home in the Emerald Trail, this place has super fast spawnrates, swarms but a bit medium-ish damage. Grab 8 Bat Ears here for the Potion Making quest, also.

Coords: (not available, but the sewers start in the home of Potion Merchant in the emerald Trail)

    Image(s):
    Image 1

Level 15-25 - Should be near Detlas / Nemract
    - Quests…?

    Explore.

    k.

    *Mt. Wynn, sourced by A.w.Hippie

Volcanic Zurkers and other mobs come in hordes. Overall, good XP, big hordes. Make frequent trips down to the bottom and up to the entrance, killing mobs.

    Coords: -174 -1957

    **Saint’s Row Graveyard

This graveyard contains a ton of skeletons, and occasionally Salted will appear in his zombified form here to roast you.

    Coords: 300, -2075

Black Road Outskirts / The Witch's Hut

Pretty weird grinding spot to be honest, but Mooshrooms around you have a high spawn rate. If you want, you can go inside the Witch's Hut in the Potion Making quest, and kill the Witch. She spawns frequently, and give moderate XP.

    Weird.

    Coords: 474, -1515

    Image(s):
    Image 1
    Image 2
    Image 3

Level 25-35 - Should be near Nemract / Almuj
    - Quests are disappearing, so get yo grinding caps on.

    Explore.

    why.

    *Abandoned Mines, sourced by A.w.Hippie

In Wynn, moving ore blocks assault us.
In reality, we assault the ores
There, no more "Wynn is life" quotes.

    Coords: 775 -1340

    ***Almuj Majority

The Savannah, and the desert has sometimes a swarm of mobs, all of which are mediocre- strong. Use caution when you are around this area. Also, try to find a cave that spawns of ton of mobs. There are a few.

    Notable Locations:

    Bandit Cave:

    Coords: 1320 -1750

Level 35-45 / Should be near Nesaak
    - Yeah. This is exactly when grinding starts to come in.

    Explore.

    oh pls

    ***Corrupted Sentinel “Cave”

This area is close to Ice Canyons region. Level 37 Corrupted Sentinel summons here, always in huge swarms.

    Coords: -140 -500

    ***Frozen Iron Golem Cave

Use a little more caution when grinding here than you would’ve used in the Corrupted Sentinel Cave.

    Coords: -309 -496

    *Wendigo Cave, sourced by A.w.Hippie

Level 44 Hungry Wendigos hang out in the water, waiting to dine on you whenever they wish. Again, caution.

    Coords: 150 -731

    **, ***Bob’s Tomb

Although very annoying to enter and needs a level 45 quest to be done, it’s still a considerable grinding spot with all the Snow Zombies.

Level 45-55 / Should be near Nesaak / Troms Jungle / Troms
    - Grind grind grind.

    Expl0re.

Since the Troms Jungle is a small area, you can always go around and visit caves, kill mobs and get some Tier IV Loot Chests while doing so.

Rotten Zombie Cave / Fluxed Cave, dubbed by Submonsterine

To get to the area, you must cross the Great Bridge, which has some mobs you won’t like being with. The entrance of the Bridge is here: -240 -696

The Cave itself has swarms of Herb Spawns, Rotten Zombies, Jungle Slimes and Magical Fluxes. Be aware of the Spawns and the Fluxes, as they tend to hit hard. Alright, I can’t stress this enough: AVOID BIG SWARMS for safety; find a camping spot.

    Coords: -570 66 -612

    Jungle Majority

Most caves in the Jungle are sometimes packed with strong monsters. They will net you some great XP. Do NOT wander off into Dernel Jungle. It’s too large and the mobs will one-hit you. There’s two entrances to the D. Jungle:

Either the gate beside the Fluxed Cave, or through Jungle Village.

Level 55-68 / Should be near Troms
    - You might’ve realized that levelling up is progressively getting harder. Although, it is not over yet…

    ***Herb Spawn Cave

A cave right beside the Jungle’s side of the Great Bridge, this cave is filled with Herb Spawns, Slimes and Jungle Fetishes and whatnot. Watch your backs from time to time. You never know what might be lurking around behind you. Also, do not linger in the same spot. Go around, and avoid danger. Good luck!

    Coords: -500 -800

Level 68-75 / Should be near Troms
    - Welp, congratulations. You’ve reached the former level cap of Wynn! Yeah. I said former. Gavel time!

    Herb Spawn Cave

Still possible to grind at, but you will find yourself not gaining any good amount of XP.

**Temple of Legends - Training Room

Ah, good ol’ ToL. This room used to be infected with Trained Corrupted; that spawn in hordes and can quite be annoying. But now, the best Trainers of Wynn will net you some XP and some loots also. Although, it requires the quest Temple of Legends to be completed. Good luck grinding!

*,**,*** Tower of Ascension - Floor 6 Level 9, suggested by Rujala

Suggested by Rujala, this is the home of level 99 Grim Reapers, and they will net you some 1K+ XP with some XP gears, of course. The Reapers are extremely dangerous and will Kill-Strike you whenever you get close, which insta-killed me a lot.
If you have some Water affinity, it will become a bit easier.

Coords of the Temple entrance: -680 -1015

    Gavel Province:

Gavel is a new province that was out for about two months now. Along with its release, bunch of amazing things were added, not only to mention new quests and obviously grinding areas. So let’s get right into it.

Level 40-45 / Should be near Llevigar
    - Although one can come here whenever they wish, it is recommended to do stuff in Gavel from level 40. Anyway, this province is different from Wynn a LOT. The biomes, the mobs and the quality of everything. Welcome to Gavel.

    *Orc Camps, sourced by A.w.Hippie

Areas you will definitely visit during the Clearing the Camps quest, there are Camps scattered throughout Llevigar Plains that will make your grinding a bit easier. The Big Boss Orcs’ camps are particularly good. When you happen to passby one during exploring, kill the Big Boss Orc, get its head and keep it. You will need it for the Clearing the Camps quest.

There are three different camps to grind at. Diversity at its best!

    Dolg’s Camp: -2160, -4786

    Visbe’s Camp: -1990,-5014

    Elak’s Camp: -1940, -4690

    Explore!

More enthusiasm! Gavel is far more interesting than Wynn, and that means more caves and loot chests.

Level 45-55 / Should be near Olux
    - Quests mainly dominate these level ranges, but from time to time, you may need to grind.

    Explore!

    yuy

    **Olux Crypts

Pretty good mob spawn, if I remember correctly. For this area, you have to be in the midst or need to complete the quest Crop Failure to access this area.

    Coords: -1769 -5593

    *Lizardman Camps, sourced by A.w.Hippie

A small area in the swamps, this camp is packed with Lizardman Bruisers who will range attack you whenever they please. Also a Loot Chest II is in one of the tents.

    Coords: -1950 -5480

    **Black Whistle Inner Mountain

The Falling Rocks and some other mobs at the top are moderately good for grinding. To access here, you first have to scale the mountain in Death Whistle, and then go into the “Teleporter” (what I like to call encarved area with coal blocks that TP you). You have to be in the middle of or complete the said quest above to gain access.

Base of the Mountain Coords: -2064 -5190

Level 55-65 / Should be near Olux / Gelibord
    Liking Gavel so far?

*, **(presumably) Marsh Ogre Fort, suggested by A.w.Hippie

According to my sources, the fort is from an “earlier quest”, so you might need to complete a certain quest before doing so. I will research to see what.

Level 60s Ogres spawns frequently around this area, sometimes level 75 “mini-bosses”, if I am not mistaken.

    Coords: -1350 -5220

    Explore!

    EXPLORE.

Level 65-75 / Should be near Gelibord / Cinfras
    - Getting higher!

*, ***Gollier Cave, sourced by A.w.Hippie

Used in The Ultimate Weapon quest, level 75 ranged Golliers reside in this cave. It might not hurt to grab 20 Iron Bars, dropped from the said mobs, for a head-start in the quest said above.

    Coords: -740 -4560

    ***Royal Bug Ruins

Again, used in the Ultimate Weapon quest, the bugs around here spawn very hastily, and IIRC, good experience points. Also, grab 100 Royal Bug Blood while grinding in this area, it will come in use.

    Coords: -642 -4735

    Explore!

    yeah

*Kander Forest Majority, suggested by TheLeader

The name might not really come instantly to your mind, but I will put it in an easier form:
    Regions around Lexdale.
This area is West from the Dark Forest and approximately North from the Light Forest. Some regions in the Forest spawns good amount of mobs. Pay the Forest a visit, it's not really a discomforting place as it looks!

    Coords: 600 -5300

Level 75-85 / Should be near Cinfras / Thanos / Thesead, Eltom
    - Things get real from here.

*,*** Lower Canyon / Thanos Entrance, sourced by A.w.Hippie

Situated East of Lake Gylia and South of Gylia Watch, this area, called the Lower Canyon has annoying creatures (i.e. Pheonix) that will range attack you every few seconds. Caution. You can choose to not to attack the Dragon Turtles and the Dragonborn Sentinels, as they are neutral, and not risk of death. Although, they give the most XP out of the five different kind of mobs in the area. What a dilemma. (Relend’s rhyming disease confirmed)

    Coords: 0 32 -5220

    *** Pheonix Cave

Right beside the above grinding spot, the outskirts and the inner parts of this cave WILL make your grinding a bit easier. Spawns are good, XP is moderate, or high during Double XP, and there are two entrances to it; one (indirectly) connects to Thesead, while the other is at the Lower Canyon. Same mobs spawn as above.

    Coords:

    Eastern Entrance: 74 44 5118

    Western Entrance: Around 138 51 5190

*The Hive, suggested / sourced by Selvut

Hive Scuttlers and Young Hive Drones spawns greatly at the cave in the back.
Not really much to say, so moving on. Hopefully you know where the Hive is. It is situated in the lower part of the Canyon.

    * EDIT: With the new map patch, more caves, more mobs and more things have been added, along with Gale's Tomb. Pay it a visit.

Coords of Yansur (in The Hive): 372 -5500

    * “Fire Spring”, dubbed and suggested / sourced by Selvut

Being near the gate of Molten Heights, this grinding spot is really good for mid-level 80’s, due to the spawn rate, two sections that summons mobs almost equally, and easy to access from Eltom (visit there once to respawn there when you die, so you can get back to the spot easily). Water weapons would come in use while grinding here.
Since the CotL is a COMPLICATED place, it's pretty hard to find anything around here.
Here's a nudge to the right direction:

    1. Get to Thesead
    2. Go to the billboard that says "Lower Canyon". Go down the path.
    3. If memory serves: Go left from there. At the right you will see the gate to Molten Heights. Search around the opposite side of it and you fill probably find a cave, with the entrance scorched.

    Coords: 788 35 -5329

    Image(s):
    Image 1
    Image 2

Level 85-100 / Should be near Thesead, Eltom, Rodoroc, Dogovi, Kandon-Beda, Ahmsord
    - Congrats for reaching the level cap!

    * Garg Cave, dubbed and introduced by LordMuttonChaps

Called “The Next Herb Cave” by LordMutton, the spawn rates here are very high and grants 1.2k EXP average per kill. Worth visiting. Credits to LordMuttonChaps for discovering this place!
The downhill to this place is that it's HARD to find this place. For any of you guys who have completed The Lost: The entrance to the "cave" is near Kofis. Actually it's right behind him.
Take a walk and you will find it.

    Coords: 550 50 -4445

    Image(s):
    Image 1
    Image 2

    *** Freezing Heights

Very very popular grinding spot. The loot is amazing, so is the spawnrate, and the XP is somewhat medium. This area is near Dogovi (it's in Underground Molten Heights, not the MOLTEN HEIGHTS you see in the map with all the volcanoes) but you end up in Rodoroc / Thesead when you die. Be careful and use caution. Again, hopefully the name rings a bell.

    Coords: 1420 6 -5431

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Conclusion:
Welp, that’s it. If you have any suggestions, corrections or stuff that I need to fix, please comment below. Also, pl0x vote on the poll ;-;. Spent ages on this guide.

    Please don't h8 on the guide. If something needs to be fixed, please criticize me ;3;

What's the Y coordinate on the Garg Cave? It might be helpful to post for grinding spots located in the Canyon considering it's not a linear place.
