      Is it possible to make a plugin that retextures a certain item without the need for MCPatcher?
      It works with maps, so I thought it would work on these too.

        Plugins don't have the ability to re-texture a block client side. However I could make something that when you break a sand block it actually drops a block of dirt, so essentially, the dirt is textured like sand. But in all reality, it is sand, just doesn't drop sand :P
