    as far as i know it's generally been something done to either keep other guilds in the dark for guild wars (especially back in the day guilds were like 2 years behind on the meta most of the time) as well as the strange idea that it would keep OP items out of the scope for nerfs

    ok ok ok I made this because I was a bit mald
    so, yes, the first point makes sense, and the second one, less so, but I was specifically referring to when people who have a bunch of crafteds in their non-war builds keep the builds secret because "they put in the work"
