I've looked into it and it's most likely a hoax. I haven't been able to find any solid proof of it actually happening to people.
There are some kids doing it and hurting themselves, but much of what you'll here is exaggerated. If you ever actually are approached to do it just contact the police.
Yeah, I checked it out too. I don't know why anyone would actually kill themselves to win a 'game'. Just play some flash games and win those instead.
