@YunoFuckingGasai 's info about how pre-Gavel Mage was not UP has inspired me to make my own about why skill point requirements are a good thing.


When you put your points into a skill, you are choosing to go down that path, when you put your points into Strength and Defense, you are choosing to go down the path of a Tanky Brute, when you put your points into Dexterity and Agility, you are choosing to go down the path of a Ninja Scout, When you put your points into Defense, Intelligence, and Agility, you are choosing the path of a Tanky Sorcerer Scout.

That's why skill point requirements are a thing, if you hate them, well, I'm sorry to say, but I honestly think its good game design.

You're creating the way you play, ever wanted to hit super duper slow? Well, no problem, there are items that were made just for your kind of people. Ever wanted to run around super fast in a room, hitting lots of enemies at ultra-fast speeds? There are also items made for that playstyle. Are you worried that there won't be any items that benefit for your exotic build? No worries! There are 1300+ items in Wynncraft, and more are being added, there must be an item in there that fits you perfectly!

Do you keep getting items that aren't fit for you? Don't just throw them away! Maybe that "useless thunder weapon" that doesn't benefit you, will make someone else very OP if their build is centered around Dexterity/Thunder, and maybe, JUST maybe, that "someone else" also has a weapon that is necessary for your build to really shine! It's a win-win situation!

See what I mean with the above information? As you go down the path you've chosen to go through, there are items that were made for you, items that were made to benefit people like you going down the path of a skill, and that's why I think skill point requirements are a good thing. If skill point requirements were removed, the Wynncraft Community would create a "tier list" of sorts for items, choosing which endgame items are the "best", and everyone would be wearing the same endgame ALL OVER AGAIN, which I think the developers were trying to get away from....
