My Friend's Quest

Note - I don't know when or if the Gavel content competition if over, either way, my friend wrote this quest, and I wanted to show everyone it, since I liked the idea. I hope you all enjoy it too.

Notes to the Wynncraft Staff: The asterisks represent the player doing an action. Anywhere there is parentheses is because I do not know what is in Gavel and what items/places there will be. Feel free to change text in parentheses as you wish. If you feel it necessary to change something not in parentheses, that is fine. Just make as minor a change as possible. Also, this quest uses hourglass sand which may be swapped out for a glass/sand-like item instead, and blaze powder which may be swapped out for a similar item dropped from a more powerful mob. Finally, this quest has a very unique boss, which will be explained later in the quest. Thank you.

Dakota: You could not have come at a more perfect time. My beloved mirror has broken, a gift from my father! I was just sitting in the living room, it was on the mantle, and it just exploded with this deafening cry. I know not what happened! If my father finds out about this he’ll kill me! Please help me before my father visits in a couple of days.


Take the broken mirror to the original maker, Vassu. He will fix it. He lives near (insert town/place name). Please Hurry.

Vassu: Hello sir, interested in some of my fine artisan clocks and mirrors? What’s that? You have a damaged item from a buyer? Well let’s have a look. Oh, I remember this piece. How exactly was it broken, may I ask? Oh. Well, this gets us in a bit of pickle..


You see, I was playing around with some dark magic at the time and I experimented on that mirror. One day, a fine gentleman came along and just had to have it. I couldn’t turn down his deal. I believe whatever dark magic I restrained in the mirror has broken free.


There is only one way to fix this. We must first fix the mirror, then well hmm… You look like you’re in good shape. Can you destroy all the dark magic at its source? Yes? Wonderful. To begin I will need to patch the mirror. Bring me (30 Hourglass Sand from Selchar to make into glass. I’m sure they won’t mind.) Also get (12 Blaze powder and) 1 Red Powder II to fuel my furnaces.


*Bring (30 Hourglass Sand), (12 Blaze Powder), and 1 Red Powder II to Vassu*


Vassu: Good to see your return. Here is the patched up mirror. It will take you to the source of the dark magic. Destroy whatever of the dark matter is there. Good luck.

*Receive Shadowy Mirror Quest Item*


*Right click mirror and be teleported to a (cube shaped) room (with dark colored floors and glass walls with dark blocks behind the glass). The Shadowy Mirror does not disappear until later, in case the player dies while fighting the boss and has to fight it again.*


*Kill the boss in this room. The boss mechanics are explained below.*


Dark Reflection (Boss): If the coders can’t make this work, I understand. Dark Reflection will copy the class, level, and possibly skill points of the player, but be somewhat stronger. This boss MUST be fought alone. Dark Reflection will use one or more of the player’s spells against them.


If the coders cannot make this work, have Dark Reflection use 1 spell from each class, 4 spells total. The spells can either be randomized every battle, or selected. Have 4 minions in the battle room as well, each using one spell from each of the four classes. There will be 1 Archer Minion, 1 Warrior Minion, etc.


Upon killing Dark Reflection, it will immediately despawn the Shadowy Mirror item from before, and give a new quest item, Flawless Mirror. It will then teleport the player to Vassu’s location.

Vassu: You did it! The mirror is completely clean. How hard was it? You had to fight a version of yourself made of dark matter? Interesting. I suppose the properties of the mirror and dark matter fused… But that is a different discussion. Return the mirror to your friend. Farewell!

*Despawn Flawless Mirror*


Dakota: Thank goodness, right on time again. My father visits today. What took you so long though? You got held up, but by what? Well, I do have my mirror fixed, so here is your reward, as promised.
