Normally I'd link you to the FAQ but after the events of 9/7 it doesn't exist anymore. To answer your current questions:

1. You can sell weapons and armor you don't want to Item Buyers. They can be found in every major town excluding Ragni and Nesaak. The nearest one to Ragni is probably in Detlas. Just head out the front gate (East?) and keep following the path through to the forest, then straight through the forest, then across the bridge, through the suburbs, and into Detlas. From there go into the hour glass tower in the center, take a left into the market area and they'll be some at the stalls.
2. If you think you can't make it you can just throw items you don't want on the ground. After 20 seconds other players can pick them up.
3. There is a banking system. Every major town excluding Ragni has a bank. Nearest one from Ragni will be Detlas. This time instead of taking a left at the hour glass, take a right and it's the big building right there.
4. The game will never be pay to play. Ever. This isn't even because of the EULA changes to Minecraft, we just don't want to do that.
5. Pay to win is something we can't do either; partially because of EULA. Before, VIPs used to get double xp, but after the EULA we had to change the system. It wasn't really pay to win, but it was the closet thing to it.

Those "5 bucks" you are speaking of are obtained by killing a few mobs. They drop these things called emeralds, which is an in-game currency we use.

 

First, type /kill 5 times.
After that, .....
